Patreon Tier Announcement
🕑 Added 2023-08-26 00:10:27 +0000 UTCHappy Friday, patrons! Over the past few months we know our rewards have increasingly become unreliable as we’ve dealt with a rollercoaster of professional and personal hurdles. For this we extend our deepest apologies.
To get us back on track, we are going to reorganize the Patreon tiers so that going forward we can better guarantee the rewards we’ve promised you. Obviously this is a big change, and if at any time during this transition you’d like to receive a refund, please request one via direct message and we’ll be more than happy to oblige. We’re also happy to hear any feedback you have, whether positive or negative, about these changes.
Without further ado, here’s the new tier list:
$1: Bronze Boogeymen
Explicit, Ad Free Cuts
- Explicit Cut: Get the usual Explicit Cut that you know and love, now also without YouTube ads (unless something funky happens on youtube’s end in which case we’ll work to resolve it) and the Sponsor Segment!
$5: Silver Slashers
Commentary Track/Early Release
- Commentary Track: James and Chelsea record a monthly Commentary Track, sometimes with guests!
- Early Release: Get early releases of the Kill Count when possible!
- All Previous Tier Rewards
$10: Golden Ghouls
Team Stream / Pilot Testing
- Team Stream: Get to know the Dead Meat team with new Team hangout Streams. This can include James, Chelsea, Zoran, or one of the many other people that keep Dead Meat going behind the scenes!
- Pilot Testing: Every now and then, we want to try something new, and when we do we just might drop test footage, rough cuts, or trial episodes for patrons to give their thoughts on! How often this will happen isn’t guaranteed.

$20: Platinum Poltergeists
Research/Scripts/ Voting on Commentary Track / Verbal Call Out in KC/Podcast Patreon Feed
- Research/Scripts: Get access to our research library and Kill Count Scripts!
- Voting on Commentary Track: Vote for which movie the month’s commentary track will cover, based on a list of options created by James and Chelsea.
- Podcast Patreon Feed: Once a month (after hours special) audio only, James and Chelsea will release an episode featuring content you can’t get on the main feed.
- Verbal Call Out in KC: Get a verbal shout out at the end of one Kill Count! (Reward does not reset each month)
- All Previous Tier Rewards
$50: Diamond Demons
James Stream/ Names in Kill Counts
- James Stream: Join James to either play a video game, watch a movie, or just hang out with the chat!
- Names in Kill Counts: Have your name be part of the scrolling list at the end of each Kill Count (Name listed as long as you’re subscribed at this tier)!
- All Previous Tier Rewards

Can we vote on removing the sponsor segments from explicit cuts? I actually really like them, and it's often a nice look into the kill count crew because they usually have more than just James in them. I guess either way I'll be okay, I usually watch the explicit count and also the regular one, just to help support the channel.

No hard feelings toward you guys for this at all. Seems very reasonable to me. The only reward I'm personally subscribed for is the commentary tracks, so what I'll probably start doing is subscribing once every few months to catch up on those. Still loving the main channel content, though! Especially the podcast!

Actually, if I might be bold enough to make a suggestion - what if the live watchalongs remained part of the top tier, but the recordings of them were accessible at the next tier down? I say this with nothing but vested interest because time zones and my schedule mean I'd rarely be able to tune into the live event but always get a lot of enjoyment from watching them after the fact. Dunno, just spitballing. Happy to continue my Patreonage n any case. Love you guys. X

Hope you guys are doing ok, sorry life has thrown so much crap at you recently, totally get why things need to be rejigged. I'm a little sad as I only recently upped my tier so I could access the watchalongs, which have become my new fave feature, but unfortunately I won't be able to afford the 50 per month. :( Ah well, still always happy to continue to support Dead Meat in any form, look forward to new stuff as always. Everything about the tier changes sound reasonable. I hope all is well with everyone at Dead Meat. One quick question about the levels (great names for each one, BTW). I am currently at the $3 tier. Since the $3 tier is going away, am I right in assuming that I am automatically bumped up to the $5 tier?

I'm against having to censor the gore in Kill Counts because I appreciate it so much as a part of horror. I hate the blurring we have to do on YT but as a business we have to do it. I never want to make it more than a dollar to see something I'd put out for free if I was able to.
