The Mummy was probably my first entry into horror not geared for children. My mom and I (when I was 8-9 years old) used to watch this a lot when it was released on DVD and I was always fascinated by the behind the scenes featurettes. However, I could never watch the first scene of when the Mummy is resurrected because of the imagery and jump scares, so I always had to fast forward it when I watched it on my own. 😅 (Also, the beetles gave me the creeps).

one thing i will always always love about dead meat, is that they not only love the movie, but they tend to love the people and the work that they put in. there have been a few kill counts/podcasts where they don’t like the movie, but they still recognize that people put hard work into it, and that’s what matters! i bet knowing about how a movie was made and whatnot really makes loving and watching the movie more special! i’ve always loved james and chelsea’s love for movies and all things horror!!!!!!!!!!! i would loooooooove to pick their brains one day

with Jonathon, I actually really like the idea that hes actually a WWI vet, and turned to alcohol to deal with his PTSD. His age and the timeline matches up, and explains his proficiency with guns and his comment about being in bad situations. just some cool fanon for his backstory. ok, in the Rick vs Mummy fight scene in Hamunaptra, in all the years ive been watching this movie I've NEVER seen Evie grab the lid to a canopic jar and throw it at one of the priests!! that is awesome!!
