I hope you're all keeping well. I'm excited winter is coming to an end in this part of the world and that the pandemic situation seems to be slowly but steadily improving (isn't that still such a strange thing to be saying?). It's a little too early to get excited but things feel optimistic. I hope you feel the same where you are, and that you're still finding ways to enjoy life safely regardless.
I don't have too much to say this month--progress has been a slower than I'd like on the bonus arcs video, but I've just submitted the last of the uni work I have due for a while, so I'll be focusing all my attention on it from now until it's done. Higurashi really is a monster of a series, and it turns out wrangling this amount of material into a comprehensible piece of writing is a greater task than I'd anticipated, especially as I've been continually stumbling across even more arcs I had either forgotten about or never even heard of! I'd originally hoped to keep this video to 30 minutes max but that's seeming nigh on impossible at this point. There isn't any point to my making a video like this unless I make sure it really does cover the subject as completely and accurately as possible, so while I've just finished the first draft of the script, I expect it to take a while longer and highly doubt I will be able to post it this month, though I'm endeavouring to get it out as early on in April as possible.
In other random news, I posted an old Higurashi fanfic I'd written a few years ago that I just found again the other day! I've had a bit of an ideas drought with fanfiction over the last year but Gou has definitely helped to get my creative juices flowing again and I'm working on a few different pieces currently, so I'm hoping to share something else in the not-too-distant future. I'm still working out how best to incorporate anything to do with my fanfiction into this Patreon, be it sharing pieces I've scrapped or talking more generally about my writing process. In the end it all depends on what you guys are interested in seeing, so I'm always open to suggestions.

I really hope we someday find out who Keiichi marries. Mion and Rena are the obvious contenders, but I wouldn’t count Rika out. She has particular reason to see him in a romantic light, after all, and she’s the tanuki. Satoko definitely seems to have more of a surrogate sibling relationship with him, though, and it appears possible that she is a lesbian. This is in response to your rather sensual fanfic.
