Storm Chase - April 15
🕑 Added 2024-04-15 17:40:57 +0000 UTCI’ve been torn between the southern 5% target in Texas and the 10% SigTor target in Kansas all morning. As of now I’m choosing Texas / Abilene vicinity. I may make a mad dash north last second if the CAMS start to resolve daylight storms there.
I’ll try to post worthy updates.
Good luck gamblers!

It’s probably just me, but the setups so far this Spring look good on paper but seem to NOT be ready to fire yet. Makes me think at some point all heck is going to break loose.

Mushy storms. Heading toward tomorrow’s target. Might score something on the way.

No don't worry.. A lot of time Hank is just making spaghetti on those maps😂

You guys kill me with the acronyms. Some of us weather enthusiasts have to think for a min what they are while hoping someone explains the squiggles on the forecast maps well. Only thing my mind sees is spaghetti in different colors. I know they all mean something but would love if maybe down the road someone could make a video entitled “what the squiggles mean?”

Things are really heating up temp wise 84F in Omaha NE today! Maybe storms overnight but most likely way south where you’re going. Stay safe out there Hank & everyone else chasing. Never know when a rogue burrito (or driver) will decide to show up. 🌪️🚙⛈️⚡️

You may be on to something…just saw a Mesoscale Discussion go out for that area. Good luck!

Good luck Hank! I’m targeting SW Kansas with fingers crossed

Hoping you evade all those potential speeding tixs in case you last minute dart up north. Good luck today!

On the most recent SFC temps map I’ve noticed a much more concentrated area of moisture pooling and backed winds ahead of the dryline on the SW OK/TX border along the red river. Feel like that’s something to take into account.

Good luck Hank! Happy trails!
