Iowa Tornado Sneak Peek Pics
🕑 Added 2024-04-19 02:52:04 +0000 UTCI was not expecting this. Got a 10 minute time lapse of the Houghton - New London Iowa tornado on Tuesday.
Not the prettiest tornado, but I'll take it. I eventually had to move out of its path and let it pass behind me before following it. It got kinda nasty here...
Up ahead, powerline poles were snapped and laying across the road blocking further pursuit. It was creepy comical watching some bozos drive over bouncing power lines. Surely it wasn't one of you guys.
The EF2 died shortly after the above shot, but the storm was pretty as it moved into Illinois...
I WRESTLED WITH MY NEW CAMERA GEAR a bit. Some of the video is slightly soft. My new Sony A9iii photos were pretty grainy. I hope it was my error.
THE FORECAST appears to be giving us break until late next week. There may be a sneaky play or two down here in TX prior. Hopefully I can get this new tornado video published before all that.

Congrats on that tornado!! WOW!! Nice catch. I followed that line of storms for 4 hours, then left that cell an hour before it produced. I'm glad you were there to get the footage for us! Nice work, as usual.

I saw it first hand, got some nice footage of it approaching New London, it was just a bowl at that point. Then tried following it North after getting gas, only for my cam corders card to fill, but I did manage to get a long distance shot of it on my phone when it was a cone.

Nice shots Hank! Grandkids ended up in the very hot cement tunnel, under their school of 700 kids, as Sioux City, IA was under Tornado Warning. My 5th grade granddaughter’s BFF Violet threw up!!!! Ewwwww! I think my poor granddaughter is traumatized for life! 🤣🤣🤣
