Burrito Soup Chase April 28
🕑 Added 2024-04-28 16:50:33 +0000 UTCPlan “A” today is to watch the southern end of storm clusters and see if anything can organize.
Yesterday I was late for the first tornado in Texas, but got the slushy second one in thick coils of rain. (Thanks to my security cameras). At one dumb point I was escaping the tornado in a construction zone. Slaloming scattered barrels in 60 mph RFD winds was ridiculous enough prior to them sliding in front of me.
Due to the high precipitation nature of the storms, I sabotaged any temptation to risk my life chasing after dark and got a hotel. I think those kinda calls will keep us chasers on the planet a little longer.
I might have a day or two off to edit some video after today… Maybe.
Good luck today Cluster Chasers

Pretty crazy night... Here in College Station we got well over 5 inches of rain. Winds weren't quite severe but they did get up there. If it weren't for finals coming up I would've thought the flash flooding overnight would inspire the chance to cancel or delay classes

So far Storms look as expected… HP goobliglosh. Instead of “cyclones” or “twisters,” a high school down here should name their teams the “Goobligloshers”

Glad you're safe! Take some rest when you can!

Glad you made through. Has been a bit frustrating to watch from a distance. Thoughts for those affected last night.

Sounds like a crazy adventure for sure!! Gosh, I haven’t heard slalom for yrs. I used to slalom ski on the Missouri River in my younger yrs. 😊 Glad to hear you are safe and that you decided against chasing in the dark. As more pics & videos emerge of the aftermath from the Elkhorn tornado, the reality of no loss of life is truly miraculous! We may have tons of debris to cleanup, but everyone has been accounted for, which is the most important thing.

Happy burrito-chase!

I'm glad you know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. Night chasing is too much risk for too little reward.
