2% Tornado Risk in Kansas & the Comet
🕑 Added 2024-10-21 17:35:06 +0000 UTCHello Patrons,
Today I'm sitting out the tornado risk in Kansas & Nebraska. If it's not too far a drive, consider driving out for the chance of a low top supercell doodle. I'm currently not seeing any obvious chases for the rest of October.

THE COMET
With the haze and light pollution I could not see the comet with the naked eye, however your cameras can. The title shot is a 3 second exposure significantly contrasted in Adobe Lightroom. Your smart phone can also do this automatically. If you have clear skies, you can point your cameras above Venus an hour or so after sunset to reveal the comet. It's pretty neat and worth the the time.

APPLE HARASSING PATREON
Some of you might be effected by this... NEW USERS who signed up to Patreon through the Apple app may be required to switch to "subscription billing." Apologies if you get messaged about this. Basically, Apple wants to take a cut. Just a quick heads up not to fret. I'll post more about this soon once I understand exactly WTH it's all about.
NEW VIDEO PROGRESS
I have 80% of a new video complete, however now I feel I don't have enough footage to tell the story accurately. It really needs one more season of opportunities. So, I've started another video discussing different phenomena that might be completed this weekend... Pending all the graphics.
Warm wishes,
Hank

I was able to see it a few weeks back. My camera at the time was trash. But it was great to see it in an area I work at night that is considered a black out zone. My guests on that tour had seen it as well. We are so lucky.

I’m not even trying to find the Comet. The skies here are so hazy, I never find anything except Venus & the moon.
