I don't know about equal parts ( i'd have to make it again, i think it's 4-1), but Milk + Sprite in college was like my poor man's cream soda. So quite like a lot of the "innovations" of the past, toning it down a bit makes things a lot better.

I think it's less about being kosher/stomach problems (though that's probably part of it) because he tells this story of one time 15 years ago when he met a bunch of cows and pigs and thought they were cute so he vowed to never eat them again. (+ he still eats chicken fingers because he saw them and felt nothing)

Dan is talking about a so called "Heringsbrötchen" ("Herring Bun" if you want). It's also very popular in northern Germany. But what Dan is not telling us, you have to catch the herring with the bun. True story. Or is it?

Oh, also, he's not eating literal bones. The collagen that makes gelatin is extracted from the bones and other parts of the animal (connective tissue has a lot) through boiling and reducing. The process is so thorough that unflavored Knox gelatin is barely considered an animal product by legal standards, BUT, for the sake of religious consideration (kosher and halal), it counts.

He's Jewish, so I imagine he tries to stay kosher. It's part of why they used kosher collagen casing for the sausage episode. Like they said in the video, vegan/kosher gelatin is a thing, although it's a little unclear if they used it for the dish, hence why Dan tasted it but didn't swallow.

Are we makin Dan eat bones for our amusement? BONES!? There's some horror movie coming out (or maybe just came out) where one of the trailer scenes is the villain socially pressuring a vegetarian into trying a big hunk of chicken. And its a tremendously upsetting and nauseating moment in the trailer. I'm not actually clear what dietary restrictions Dan has, if it's simply vegetarian or if it's more. But uhh... as an audience member, I don't want to feel like we are all pressuring Dan into eating like... not just gross but morally conflicting or health conflicting stuff. We don't need to know what Dan's diet is, but maybe we can like... sneak in the edit replacing his food items or something ... I dunno man I got nothin lol
