It depends on the vegetarian and their level of comfort, but some vegetarians are no animal products, which would include gelatin because it's made from an animal byproduct and therefor not vegetarian or vegan :)

Gelatin is made from cow or pig hooves, which are still an actual part of the animal and not just an animal product like milk or eggs. So anything with gelatin in it is not vegetarian.

When I think of salad, I think of green salad (with greens and dressing) or mayo based salads like macaroni salad, egg salad, chicken salad etc. I didn’t know that people called ambrosia salad, I always heard it just called ambrosia, and I’ve never had it, I think it’s a southern (US) thing. I didn’t know that dessert salads were a thing.

we do something similar-ish to this with lime jello instead of anything nutty. it's pretty much cool whip, marshmallows, pineapple, and lime jello. it's actually pretty good without nuts ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

they do make halal and vegan marshmallows! in case arin didn’t know or hasn’t tried them (don’t know if the vegan ones are halal or if the halal ones are vegan/vegetarian but if arin wants mallows, he must have mallows)
