both "rule" for "rural" and "behg" for "bag" are common in parts of the midwest ("rural" seems pretty broad, the "bag" pronunciation is upper midwest) so yeah I'm guessing the boyz are mostly getting thrown by various regional midwestern accents since they've lived mainly on the coasts.
