I hope everything is going well for you all!
Here we are with Build 14. After last build’s pretty crazy event, this one is a lot more relaxing, in more ways than one for Ben, hehe.
This month, while very busy when it comes to real-life stuff, has seen us work through one particular scene we had been planning for a while, and going the extra mile to make it as polished and interesting as we could. I have to admit I’m pretty proud of it, but you guys will be the ultimate judge, and I’d be really interested in what you all think, so make sure to tell us!
I’ve also been able to design and sketch up four new character sprites, which should be the last new characters I concept for a while now. As such, Nate’s group (Candace, Niall and Addy), as well as Russell's rival Blake, all have a WIP sprite as of now. I’ll make sure to finish them as soon as possible.
On the writing side, we’re progressing at a pretty steady pace, and we hope to bring the end of the first act very soon. The last few route choices are coming, so get ready to make the final decision of who’ll you want to spend your time in Santa Lucia with!
I’ve also been working on something on the side. I’m not quite ready to reveal it, but it’s got everything to do with Santa Lucia and its universe. I’ll reveal further info on it in the upcoming months, but I wanted you all to be aware that more content exclusive to patrons is coming. Rest assured, this is something I’m doing on my own time as a “palette-cleanser”, so it’s not eating into the work I do for Santa Lucia at all.
I think this covers it all pretty well. I’d like to ask you guys that if you play and enjoy Santa Lucia, make sure to leave a positive rating for it on itch.io. While it might not seem like much, 5 stars rating actually contribute a whole lot more than you might think they do, and we’d love to have more people play Santa Lucia and join the community!

Discussion on Build 14 (spoilers below please do not read further if you haven't experienced it yet): Another beefy update from the Stormsinger team. It was a pleasant surprise to get such a detailed NSFW scene right at the start- it definitely hit uh, all the right buttons for me eheh In the best possible way this update's brought with it a deep sense of unease. As someone who's dealt with chronic pain before, it's very understandable when Ben lashes out at his friends for worrying about him. I'll say though he'll need to pull himself together more- I think his feelings of jealousy towards Karina and Ahmed are reflective of his own internal loneliness of not having a partner to call his own. If this is Day 6, I can see the first steps towards actually dating coming in Day 8. Step 1 is a good apology to Bryan and transparency with his friends about just how truly bad his headaches have become. All in all a really positive update and for the development team: Please, PLEASE just set the beginning of the new month as your update time. Every since you guys ran a week behind earlier in the year, each update's been "delayed" a week to reflect the new 4 week development. Just a bit over the apologies when honestly, there's really nothing to apologise for. Please look after yourselves!
