Storm Chase - March 21 - TX
🕑 Added 2022-03-21 16:02:17 +0000 UTCThe current obvious initial target is A with the likely more photogenic and less messy storm modes. C is a good second candidate for a strong tornado with higher SRH (Storm Relative Helicity / Spin in the atmosphere relative to the storm) but more mess to wade through. I'll be keeping a closer eye on B in the event things aren't as messy there as current outlooks suggest. I'll try to post neato updates here throughout the event. Chasers encouraged to do the same.
Stay safe local denizens and good luck chasers!

I was there and helped the driver out, only 17yrs old and got away with only a cut.

Of course, it took no time at all for the truck brand loyalists to start waving their unmentionables in the air over that video.
I did ! It reminded me of Twister reincarnated !

Anyone see the UT video of red pickup truck direct tornado hit? Here’s the link. https://youtube.com/watch?v=KU3A25IOoEk&feature=share

Glad you are ok. That 1st experience can be quite alarming.
I was sandwiched between 2 tornadoes last night. My husband and I could hear the one that was just a bit north of us near Sun City/Jerrell TX, and then another tornado just south of us in Round Rock (we were watching the Kalahari live cam and saw the tornado before there was even an official tornado warning!). The Round Rock one was further away, about 10 miles. We’re a little bit north of Georgetown but South of Jarrell. My husband had never heard a tornado before, this was still about a mile away from us but we could just hear and feel the vibration. He commented that it sounded like a big jet taking off.

Always gonna be more storms. However I had my good friend in College Station catch what I believe was the Circleville tornado. Guess Texas can't wait until I get down there in May.

1 fatality confirmed & multiple injuries in NW Grayson Cty, TX. 😢🙏

Glad you’re safe. Sorry you didn’t get anything. Tornado chasing is definitely a different occupation when we all wish you luck in getting near one of the most dangerous events nature has to offer (aside of stupid people 😂), yet it is always good to hear you and all of the other chasers out there are home safe with your families. I really do think that many chasers (you in particular) have made huge contributions to the science of tornados as well as the educating of people. People who would normally never be into weather can’t turn down watching someone drive close to a real tornado and walk away with knowledge they did not possess before. Thanks guys!! Thanks Hank! Thanks to Nat & Hank’s mom for the worry they must feel yet supporting the cause. It is Dixie Alley’s turn tomorrow. My Newnan Ga friends are already texting with fear since we are so close to the year mark of the EF4. It’s looking like another nocturnal event for us. Not fun. Guess I’ll rest up to watch the radar tomorrow night and chase digitally from the comfort of my bed all the while hoping the trees of the forest I live in don’t fall on the house ;) Goodnight y’all! Stay safe
Hank, where are you. You need to be in East Texas.

There's always tomorrow

Got zilch today. Storms waited for me to leave them before tornadoing 😃. Home safe. Hope all you guys are as well.

Oops. It appears in the chaos I abandoned the app prior to the photos finishing uploading. Noted.

From pics/videos I’ve watched, my guess is F1-F2 damage. Anyone hearing about injuries/fatalities?

None of the pictures are coming up for me. Am I the only person with that problem?
