I left my backdoor open for you when this TX stuff is over, and you come up here to the Chicagoland Area where all the Action takes place. 😂🤣🤣😂😎

Thank you for reply, It is just odd that there was no mention of the warning in local news, and I did see some fierce winds with my own eyes tho that could have been frontal flow etc. The suspicious thing for me if that there was no follow up at all, so I hope that means nothing was damaged by either a tornado or the winds, which were maybe EF0-1. Either way, I'll just hope that was our 10-year tornado warning and move along, lol.

Well golly.. wasn't that great after all... Glad no one was seriously hurt in any of the Minnesota stuff

Wendy Jay

The video you saw just had a radar image. Radar-indicated tornadoes don’t always touch down in real life, and the damage from that storm may have been consistent with straight-line winds. It’s also entirely possible that the NWS office wasn’t as thorough as it could have been in their damage survey, but I doubt it’s all part of some larger conspiracy as you seem to imply. If you think they missed something, maybe email someone at the office directly. (I believe your local office is in Blacksburg.)

Agreed! MN...Great for fishing. As I recall the SW around Pipestone would be ok for chasing. But after that I remember trees and crossing the Mississippi about 10 times and hubby giving me those "do you know where we are going looks"...north was a good response?

Brenda

Whoa! Some of the tornado pics coming out of MN are crazy! Hope everyone is safe up there.

It’s going nuts in Minnesota with possible long track tornadoes

Brenda

My husband is from MN, but I don't think I'd be comfortable chasing with all of the trees. OMG - the visual on the pie reference from "The Help". ROFL

Qlcs tornadoes in a radar hole and messy precipitation coving the tornado makes my head hurt

Brent

Ouch. Those hatches got nasty. Hope all are very safe.

PDS tornado watch for central/southwestern MN including adjacent parts of SD

Brenda

NWS in Omaha has issued Tornado Watch NE Nebraska, NW IA, SW SD til 6PM. Hazardous Weather Outlook over large portion of Eastern NE also. Anyone still in area or have you headed into MN, SD?

Brent

Yesterday was weird and moisture going through decided to drive slow and visit friends...kinda stalled out until dark and unless you have your passport or want to see lots of trees (which I'm cool with...I like Minnesota...it's pretty) 5% sounds cool. More frontal moisture headed east. We didn't keep it all on the Wasatch Front (The Front Range Rear?). Be safe all. The Conga Lines and chaser convergence on that wee NE cell looked like that pie from the movie "The Help." Have fun. B safe.

I have a slightly off topic question. I live just North of Abingdon VA, where on May 6, 2022 a tornado touched down. We only got a warning to take shelter, but no actual info that the tornado was really alive. My cousin and I sheltered in the basement with the dog and her two parrots, but she did not have proper footwear, so I went back up to get her proper shoes, and saw intense rain outside, the house was gently swaying, but I saw nothing past about 1 foot past the glass, the rain was incredible. I know now that we were in the Bear's Cage. We know of two trees that were victims of the wind, but! I cannot find ANYTHING about this tornado now. I found a 90 second video which was live at the time, showing the CC drop overlaid with reflectivity. I've sought information on this tornado, which I am sure was barely 15 minutes while alive. Can anyone help me find something about it? I am right on the edge of Holston, less than 1/10th of a mile from the North Fork River where the highway crosses the river. That is smack between Lebanon and Abingdon VA, in Washington County. The absence of news coverage, the blank spot about this event is suspect... We dont get tornadoes often, maybe [literally] once every 9-11 years. Still with climate changing, I'd like to know as much as possible about the impact and duration of this tornado. We are fine by the way, no damage to our home, our cars, just the two trees and a portion of the barn roof was pulled loose but did not fly away, and has been reattached. Thank you, and apologies for this, but I am not part of any other weather discussions, and NOAA, NWS etc also had nothing to offer except an archived post of the warning, no updates or info on the event was findable for me. Hank, please focus on your work and get rest, unless you have 90 second to share a resource.

Brenda

Severe Thunderstorm Warning just issued a few minutes ago for Holt County (O’Neill, NE). Hope everyone was able to get outta there before it hit. 😬
