June 11 Chase Target
🕑 Added 2022-06-11 17:46:45 +0000 UTCHeads or Tails guys?
Tails is the higher percentage tornado play with potential for discrete southeast moving supercells among mixed modes. Noting I've never seen a significant tornado producing supercell moving southeast at over 20 knots. (Jarrel TX F5 was zippering southwest and I've yet to see anything else like that since.)
Tails would also require a 7 hour commute from the previous day and an 11 hour commute to tomorrows target.
Heads has a trace chance of a tornado near SE Montana, but highly unlikely a significant one. Heads also offers high chances of a neato Low Precipitation (LP) storm over beautiful country and much much much less driving as Sunday and Monday's target are in the same vicinity.
I'll be chasing heads with a sliver of regret in my stomach.
Good luck laid back chasers, and hard core commuting chasers.

Wow, upgrade to 5% TOR in latest Day 1 outlook. Right in my stomping grounds. You better believe I'm gonna chase.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to chase today. However I will be out there tomorrow! And to be honest I kinda like Sunday's setup a little better... Currently planning for Belle Fourche SD but this may change as more model runs and SPC updates come out.

Looks like that storm is a really big hailer at this point. Hank might have saved a windshield by working Montana/SD.

Lots of unexpected scenery up here in Montana! However, I feel my home state is cursed for tornadoes...

Wow if I were able to venture beyond my own backyard I would have gone just west of Topeka. Nice to see that verifying

Yeah, I'm watching the one near Beatrice. The other one that's heading SE toward Omaha is also interesting. It is eerily calm where I'm at. Just waiting for the storm to pass Fremont and then it should start to ramp up in NW Omaha. . .

I am getting this late but still wish you great luck on some photogenic tornadoes that merely scare some bunnies and rearrange a lot of dust and leaves while you film and snap away. Or, any tornado that is worth seeing, studying, and snapping!

Those storms south of Lincoln are just exploding right now, see 3 different tornado warning

Here’s hoping that you’ve got your mojo back, Hank. Enjoy Montana.
