Very late on this, apologies, but I wanted to say that I was in this storm while it also being my birthday. Very.. interesting day.

Celton

That’s terrible

Baldevi

I somehow got it at the very beginning, thought I had allergies or a tiny cold, but then ended up a Long Hauler and had antibodies forever [maybe even still, not supposed to happen] so I feel for you all, it is a struggle and only time can make it ease up. Be safe everyone still, please.

I'm so sorry, Brenda. There really isn't much rhyme or reason behind who gets a really bad case and who gets a mild or asymptomatic one. :(

Wendy Jay

Sorry to hear that your sister is suffering. Know a few other people with long Covid, and it's been absolutely awful for them. Hoping the residual exhaustion goes away eventually. The brain fog has gotten better, but my sleep schedule was already really out of whack, and it's even worse now. Every night, the question is whether I will sleep 3 hours or 12 hours, and either way, I'm just as tired when I wake up. :(

Mike Castles

Looks like possible rotation around Sturgis to Castle Rock. Pretty much same as yesterday.

It's currently heading towards Ann Arbor, MI -- maybe a little south. Sunset was about 5 mins ago, but it's pitch black outside right now. No warnings or anything, though.

Brent

Truth. And thank you Brenda.

Richard C

Nope.... Storm has moved Southeast into Indiana.. tornado warned now in that region

Brenda

Wow!! Just saw some news about it. Are parts of Chicago still under Tornado Warning?

Brenda

So sorry to hear that Wendy! Long haul Covid is no joke. Take it easy if you can. My older sister was also double vaxxed and boosted and she ended up with Covid in January. She is still dealing with long haul Covid problems and is only able to work parttime. She said the same thing about the exhaustion. She also struggles with brain fog and insomnia.

Brenda

My younger sister's college roommate/friend of 32 years was diagnosed with Covid in Nov 2020. She was admitted to the hospital 6 days after she started having symptoms. She was put on a vent a few days later and died 2 days after that. None of her family was allowed in her room. She was 50 YO and had no underlying medical conditions. It was so devastating to watch her husband and 2 sons lose her. No visitation. Funeral was limited to 10 people. No one there to support them. It was awful. . .

Brenda

I think I heard somewhere that people in the medical field are the worst patients!! Glad to hear that you are listening to your dr. Get well soon!

Richard C

Not to hijack This thread but what is happening in Chicago right now is pretty incredible.. it's coming straight into downtown whatever it is.. 84 mile an hour wind gust reported at O'Hare

Tom

That is a mean looking storm. Thankfully I'm 20 or 30 miles south, though still got a warning on my phone

Richard C

Looks like one hell of a wind event unfolding in the Ohio Valley as well as an intensifying tornado warned storm heading right into Chicago... Wow

Wendy Jay

Being vaxxed, boosted, non-illness-prone, and pretty damn careful didn't stop me from getting it 3 weeks ago. Had most of the symptoms at some point, but the exhaustion was the worst and lasted well past the point where I finally tested negative again (10 days ago). My endurance is still terrible, and I'll probably have to bail out on plans for this week that I made months ago, when caseloads were very low. Do yourself a favor and keep some tests in the Windbreaker.

Alasdair K

Iowa looks decent on Wednesday, will you chase that?

Celton

I got extraordinarily unlucky at the beginning of the pandemic when there was less then 10 reported cases in the US. One of them was one of my classmates at the college. (This was early January of 2020) We were separated by staff and told not to say anything to anyone to avoid starting panic back in the states. We were told to stay home and keep quiet and report back if we had any symptoms. I ended getting something that was indistinguishable from a severe case of my usual seasonal allergies but was nonetheless terrifying considering we didn’t really know if it would just be a pandemic or the next plague at the time. Hope you stay negative.

Mike Castles

The number of people that have not, yet, been infected dwindles each day, may you continue to be among them Hank. Wife and I have managed so far, so know it's possible. May the meso's be kind and the lightning be generous my friend.

Tom

Good luck Hank. Hope you don't catch Covid

Brent

Thank you. I promise to do ALL that Doc has advised.

Janine Moss

Hank: I'm vaxxed and boosted too. I'm less worried than before since it seems more like a common cold/flu which sucks but is less dangerous. 🤞I hope you continue to dodge it!

Pecos Hank

Take extra care Betsy.

Brent

Good luck. Hope you stay C free. I had to limp home due to illness (not Covid). The Covid numbers are up in this part of the country and hitting many. That was an added incentive to return home quickly. Stay safe all.
