The third and largest was several miles away from me (dernit) near Hawks Springs. The poor road network was challenging at times. I think I can do some more contrast magic on this one...
The 4th tornado I thought might be the same as the 3rd, however NWS damage assessment confirmed them as separate burritos. I got to spend a long time, time-lapsing this stationary twirler as it roped out...
And the 5th rain wrapped tornado developing near Scott's Bluff, occluding (getting cut off from the inflow) and roping out...

TOUGH YEAR! Even though I've tallied 20 tornadoes so far, I managed to miss all the really spectacular, photogenic events. That is taking some getting used to but it's bound to happen and will happen again if we can stay alive another 5 or 10 seasons.
THE STORM STRUCTURES have been off the charts with endless time-lapse's of cranking supercells... Something previously lacking in my portfolio. Not anymore.
In the breaks I've been able to half complete a few videos but I'm prioritizing the newest event above for the next upload. 11 cameras with some shooting both video and stills is a mountain of work archiving and editing. ETA 7 days if I don't head back out. Lot's of wonderful content this year!
IT AIN'T OVER YET. At a glance, it could be active in the Northern Plains and upslope the first week of July with continued 500mb flow. Got some urgent duties to knock off the list in Houston first. I just found out that your passport expires 6 months before it expires. WTH?!?!?

Sorry about the passport issue, but… yeah… a lot of countries won’t let you in if your passport will expire a couple of months out.

Those shots are amazing. Monsoon season in Arizona has been awfully quiet. I think the last time I saw a storm in general was April. Hopefully monsoon fortunes turn around. Also are you coming to my neck of the woods this year.

Lotta chasers struggled this year. Hard nut to swallow considering how well Mother Nature performed. It’s all part of the game. Hope your monsoon makes up for the tornado season. I’ll get those time lapses published asap, but as you know those can take some time. Especially when there’s cookie dust on your sensors .

I can't wait to see all your time lapse Hank! I have been having so much fun the past few summers focusing on TL of monsoon storms. I just find the motion in them fascinating to watch. I'm still sitting on the sidelines waiting for monsoon here. No sign of it anytime soon unfortunately. I can't believe I ended up missing all this incredible storm weather the past few months. I was hoping to at least spend a couple weeks out in the heartland to time lapse some real thunderstorms instead of the whimpy ones we mostly get around here each summer. Unfortunately life events took to hammering on my bank account and I am just now recovering and able to finance a lengthy road trip. But I believe the show is about over, at least for the southern half of the country. All I can do now is hold out hope for a killer monsoon to compensate. Some forecasts are predicting fewer storms than average overall, but bigger storms when they do. I'm down with that! Congrats on the successes you have had this year, Hank. You may have missed some of more ideal storms, but that just proves that chasing storms is just as much luck as it is skill. So many options, so much to consider and just one person to act on it.
