Sarah Lin

Fixed, thanks!

Nandan

When Rick is "kicking himself for not pursing Lisa", is he imagining throwing her into his purse... Or is u gone missing?

Sarah Lin

You'll learn a decent amount more about demonic bonds in this book! What you describe would be theoretically viable, but it would go against tradition and regulation.

Runcible Technician

I've been thinking about the description of the demon realm in the last book and how Rick only entered a bond with the frog demons because they where the have-nots of the demon realm, suggesting that traditionally you get a lot of power from one big bond with a 'rich' demon, but still get a little from 'poor' demons. What would happen if you got a LOT of small bonds with an entire community of the have-nots and gained a lot of personal power independantly out in the material plane? Is this like an army ant power kind of thing? Cumulative? How much goes back into demons bonded to a powerful fighter?

tehlu

ohh that makes sense

Pickle

I quite like the way we were built up over these two chapters to feel quite warmly inclined towards H, only to have all that upended at our new beloved mentor when he throws our hero into Hell.

Lamsey

She wasn't practicing with Trenton, she was waiting for him to arrive for a picnic. It's not stated explicitly, but Lisa makes it clear that she's there for a date in an uncomfortable not-wanting-to-say-so-bluntly kind of way.

tehlu

Why does rick believe Lisa is dating anyone. If I remember correctly; he saw her at the park practicing with a guy and made a wild leap in logic. She never told him she was dating and as far as I remember, nobody else said the same.

Sarah Lin

Fixed, thanks! Expect lots more lore about demons in this book.

Desertopa

Caught what I'm pretty sure is a typo, "It had been nice... yet he was still kicking himself for not pursing Lisa when he had a chance." I assume this is supposed to be "pursuing." I was curious about the Demonic Legionnaire before, since in the context of the setting, it doesn't sound like something you'd expect someone to be called if they're not, well, a demon. But we haven't really seen much of demons bodily interacting with the mortal world so far. Will be interested to learn more about that.

Sarah Lin

That's rough, man. Good luck moving forward.

Alexander Dupree

Thanks for the chapter. Funny to read authors put so much clarity around emotions in writing. I am just going through a break up and it really doesn't feel that clear when it's happening.

Sarah Lin

Though not all theories are right, some people's comments this book are going to seem weirdly prescient by the end. ^-^ Hopefully a sign that the setup is balanced, but we'll see.

Luis Costa

I feel weirdly proud that Lisa sort of "echoed" a comment of mine of an earlier chapter. Your sponsor doesn't really need to care about your life after your Showdown career, so be careful of "ultra-secret miracle" techniques, there's definitely a price to pay - eventually.
