Haha, glad to see you completely got what I was going for with that!

Peter Fisher

P.s. I really like your dual use of the golden lucore as a middle finger to 'cheat' power-ups, while also world building the rich leveraging the poor for more money.

Sarah Lin

Hello, thanks for your support! I have mixed feelings about chapter titles, often not using them, but I'm glad that you've enjoyed the work I've put in trying to come up with good ones. I try to hit that balance of thematically appropriate but not spoilery.

Peter Fisher

Hey, Im a relatively new fan of your works and have consumed your audiobooks a few times as a fun/enjoyable listen. I do have 1 piece of feedback though: chapter titles. I really enjoy the more obscure chapter titles like this one, because it's more of a discovery. You occasionally have a few red herrings in the plot, but the chapter titles are always rock solid indicators of what's coming up anyways. For example the golden lucore in the first book: the chapter is titled "Birthrighters" and it's not a dead giveaway that the golden lucore isnt Rick's power source, but it's pretty clear the vendetta is more important. It's probably something you've considered and already decided on, and I may be in the minority here, so take it with a grain of salt...but I like numbered or mysterious titles more :) Keep up the great work!

seems unlikely a technique like that is unlikely to act on the amount of bloodcells produced, and it takes around 120 days to reproduce all blood cells. by the way as far as we can tell humans are already greatly focused on endurence and our blood is indeed one of the best for endurence in the animal kingdom, at least in delivering O2 to our Cells, it would be a greater help if they were able to transport CO2 and some other muscle toxins as getting that and other unwanted products back out assap is often the harder part. the white bloodcells die quickly for the most part so that should be good after a week or so, except for some memory cells.. of course memory cells live freaking long to be effective.

H is really starting to rub me the wrong way. In the beginning, he seemed willing to entertain the idea of Rick being able to decide the procedures done to his body for the sake of the Showdown. But after the mess with Melissa and Uncle Frank, and his following performance, H seems like he's under a lot more pressure for Rick to succeed and that pressure is being shown through how hard he is pushing for the options better for combat at the expense of Rick's life after the Showdown. I say all this to say I think you are doing a wonderful job of keeping the suspense high through these chapters, and I look forward to reading them each week.

I like the cover except for Ricks head. It feels like it was bigger than before and something is "off" in regards to his face.

Alison Stoneklifft

I agree with above on the cover. It's pretty but doesn't feel like good reflections of Rick and Melissa.

Nandan

That cover looks nice... but ideally I'd like to see something closer to what's typically going on when those two are pressed hard: Rick absorbing or tanking some kind of energy attacks, the Triune Spheres spinning around him, and a black aura sphere around Melissa, whose facial expression should probably be less relaxed.

Sarah Lin

As I mentioned above, I agree about the face. I appreciate your feedback, and hopefully the final version will look better.

Sarah Lin

Haha, you're not the only one to request a Melissa novel, but I can't make any promises.

Han Pol

interesting chapters, and as far as I can tell the gene therapy one is well researched, i guessed that immortals use only lucures to reach immortality, but i would guess some genetic modification to prevent cancer or the growth of certain lung cells would be hard to deverlop before science reaches a very high state.

Kyle

It's especially an issue with the left vs right eye where the above is most noticeable

Kyle

Also: I like the new cover! I kinda agree about Rick's face, but I think the issue is that it looks like effort was made to have the lighting be different on the sides of his face, and not have it *quite* be directly facing forwards, but the way the light and attempted slight perspective difference on left and right side of his face leaves the left side looking a little disproportionate, rather than the angled perspective desired. The left side looks too small and a little squished &/or the right side is a little too big and/or not quite having the angled perspective the left side was going for.

silder

Great stuff! This set of chapters felt more tonally in-line for what I expect from Rick. (His cynicism about the body modifications etc.) I'm excited to see how H vs. Rick ends.

ExtraKeys202

My god, that cover slaps so hard. We're gonna need a Melissa side novel after Soulhome is finished!

Kyle

Great chapters! I feel like the body modification thing is interesting and the way it's further developing the story with H and Rick's journey through the showdown is good stuff!

Alexander Dupree

From our perspective the left side of his head is more sharp than the right. The eyebrows and noes make this effect pretty strong. His jaw is also slightly weird not sure exactly what's wrong. Small tilts of heads in art is very hard to do. I'm not a professional just grew up with a mom who painted professionally.

Alexander Dupree

Thanks for the chapters. Love the tension we've got going on with H and formula T. H sure seems like a psychopath who's trying to keep the wool pulled down over Rick's eyes.

Adrian Gorgey

OKAY, love everything about the cover EXCEPT for Rick's face. He looks, uh... aesthetically impaired. Not saying he needs to be James Bond, but we can do a little better than this, right?
