Just got to the part about kids and ipads. I just wanna throw out there that this is something im very passionate about. My son is 4 and he has had a tablet for about a year and a half now and i fight constantly with family members about letting him just fucking use the thing. Everyone is screaming down my throat about how terrible it is for him and how fucked up it is of me to be so negligent of him to let him use technology. That child has a better vocabulary than any child his age ive met because he watches youtube. He has more understanding of how to handle social situations than any other kid he plays with, because he listens to people do lets plays together. He cracks funny jokes with wit, because he has heard people do it. He has amazing hand eye corrdination from playing reaction based games. Can it be a problem? Of course. But so can tv, so can toys, i mean for fucks sake so can playing outside. If you let something get out of hand, its obviously going to be bad. If you are neglectful of your child, its going to go wrong. The bad part isnt the thing it expresses itself in, its in the neglect. Apologies for the rant, but im just so fucking tired of people saying that letting kids use technology is bad while they spend hours scrolling their fucking facebook feed every day.
