Her backup plan was to carve a spell circle (much like ones used in traditional demon summoning rituals) around the Prisoner. Which would have lowered the mana usage and freed up some of her owls to face any other threats. But honestly, even if she tried at the beginning, being unaware of the danger right behind her determined the outcome of the battle.
And now, the Prisoner is loose.

So the prisoner will likely get his hands on the crown. I wonder if he can use it? (Given it's purpose was to control him). I also wonder if it's one of his shackle keys.

yea - she's not thinking straight. But she KNOWS the owls can't hold the shield without her help. And the Raven won't be able to handle Crusher alone.

Funny to have the Owls "handle" Crusher when only seconds after appearing she's taken out 2 out of 4.
