I'm doing fine myself, though work has been pretty chaotic. We started working from home last week, but many of our clients have been heavily affected by the economic consequences of the pandemic. Combined with the fact with the Government is announcing new measures for businesses almost every day, I've been incredibly busy. Didn't finish work until after 10pm yesterday. That said, it has felt good to be able to help and reassure people in some small ways.
I'm hopeful that things will calm down a little in the coming weeks, providing more time to work on my stories.
In relation to this, I have a mild dilemma. The pandemic has given me a few ideas for some (lighthearted ) short stories and pics. I'm keen to pursue these, but I'd be interested to know what others think. On the one hand, I wouldn't want to undermine the seriousness of the current pandemic. On the other, I think a bit of lighthearted humour might cheer people up.
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.
In the meantime, stay safe and keep washing your hands. π§Ό

War of Art is so good! I need to re-read at least a page or two every day. Highly recommend Gaiman's Masterclass too. I hadn't heard of the Sandman stuff until I watched the Masterclass, but it sounds like something I'd love. I didn't get on so well with American Gods, but I love Coraline and Norse Mythology - and Good Omens, of course. Neverwhere is next on my reading list.
I love The War of Art! I listen to the audiobook almost daily to re-up my dedication to the work I'm doing. I've also seen the ad on YouTube for the Gaiman Masterclass, and it looked phenomenal. (As I would have expected, being a huge Sandman fan.) Glad to read that you're getting this inspiration and support from Pressfield and Gaiman. They're two of the best.

Hi Harry. I'm very well, and yes, I am writing! I know it's been a ridiculous and wholly unacceptable wait for the next chapter, but I'm writing far more consistently and productively now, thanks to a book called The War of Art and Neil Gaiman's Masterclass. Expect the next chapter very soon! :)

I say do what moves you. I can't see anyone in our sweaty little niche holding it against you and those of us not inundated with work or family obligations will appreciate the diversion. As for my output, writing stories about people where one of their signature traits is breathlessness has lost its appeal for the time being....

Sorry to hear how overworked the current situation is making you, hope you can find some me-time in the work from home hell. I'd 100% say go for it, especially if you're inspired. For me personally, I'd love to see how one Becky Thornton, MP (massive posterior), is handling the crisis - self-indulgently self-isolating and calling every take-away within a a ten mile radius, I'd assume, but really all your stories are great and I have no reason to doubt a bit of corona comedy wouldn't be as well
With restaurants shuttering, what will Abby do to get her Ortolan fix? I can imagine her feeling very deprived and cranky, and in need of some hands-on pampering by someone of the male persuasion.

I'd say do it! One of the things that will get us through this awful situation is a bit of humour, even if it is dark humour! Go for it.
