Loved this episode. Great interview.

There was a real overlap between this episode and some of the stuff I've been interested in lately. I just watched "Klute" a couple weeks ago, I found the DVD at a record store when I was in Denver. I hadn't watched the film in almost 20 years and couldn't agree more on how well it holds up. The opening credits sequence is particularly great. I had mentioned Pakula and The Conversation in a blog post reviewing "Searching" ...have you watched? Wonder what your thoughts are on it. Secondly, when Rachel brought up Jaron Lanier I nearly fell out of my chair, I've been obsessed with this guy lately, he is fascinating (would make a good guest for your podcast). Lastly, what DID you think of those Emmys Awards on Monday night. That opening monologue was cringe inducing. My friends and I always fill out a Vanity Fair ballot for fun during these viewings and I haven't watched the majority of these shows..

One of my favourites so far! I read The Mars Room in prep for this and loved it.

As a Gen X, I really loved "Halt and Catch Fire", following 6 characters during the computer revolution of the 80s and early 90s, chasing their dreams of making a difference, all with different motivations. Each season kept getting better and better - the 4th and last season left a big mark on me (man, that final episode...).

All in the Family.

Wait...if The Wire isn’t the best television show ever created, then what is??
Gatsby
We should make an official dead pool for how long Bret will last through a show. Also, great podcast as usual.
