Because when he caught up within 2 levels of the others he'd still be more than 2 levels under Parnym.

Thanks for the chapter. Do you mind explaining the XP boost? I don't follow the maths here at all. I think I must be fundamentally misunderstanding it, because the more I think about it, the less sense it makes. > “Every Dungeon has an acceleration System, Leonidas, when Parties consist of members with a greater than two-level discrepancy,” Aylar explained after her mirth faded to a small smile, and Leonidas’ eyes widened a little as he began to understand. “Synthra and Bardulf are both level 17, I’m level 15, Parnym is level 18, and you are level 11. That means that so long as Parnym is with us, your experience gain will increase by one hundred percent for each level difference between you above two.” > “...wait, what?” > “You will have a three hundred percent increase in your gains during the Dungeon until the gap is reduced to two levels, Achilles," So, he's level 11. We're told that he's getting an extra 100% "for each level difference between you above two". He's getting a "300% increase in his XP", so that means that there's a level difference of 5. But... where is there a level difference of 5? The difference between Leonidas (11) and the next companion (Aylar, 15) is 4 levels. Not 5. The difference between the highest (18) and lowest (11) is 7. So, I'm not understanding this level difference. Also, why are we told that he'll get 300% "until the gap is reduced to two levels"? Wouldn't it go 300%, then 200%, then 100%, then no boost? Finally, why are we told that the boost happens "so long as Parnym is with us"? Even if Parnym isn't around, the party would still "consist of members with a greater than two-level discrepancy". I'm pretty sure I'm misunderstanding this.

Yeah, and it'll help if/when he gets trauma locked.

Perfect timing. I realize that telling random people of his history is what would be classified as 'a bad idea', but these are folks you are about to entrust your life to in battle. If you can't trust them with all of it, then you are screwed regardless. Being honest and open strengthens their bond with you, and helps whatever relationships you are trying to build. Be they friendship or something considerably...deeper.
