I disagree. Guns allow for fighting up a tier and the only reason they will ever fall short is the design isn't good enough. If a sword can be built to cut a god, then a bullet can be built to peirce a god.

Guns are always a force multiplier. I forsee units of gun wielding soldiers in formation like the revolutionary war, or perhaps small scout units, but in either case its going to be niche, because as useful as that kind of distance killing power is, it isnt going to be more important than a strong, traditional cultivator. Imo, at least.

I really hope not. Too many novels devolve into this trope. Wouldn't make sense when a cultivator can launch a spear as fast as a canon or invoke magic. Artillery maybe ...
