Wow. What a wonderful pile of dirt to work with. I can't wait to see what you can do with. it.

I can't wait to see the video on this resurrection!

Matt K Mitchell

After I picked my jaw off the floor......... I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes and the final result. OMG.

Great project! And I'm looking forward for more reports. Also, I am hoping there is some way to remove the stain from the paper label inside the top. Was water soluble ink used? Possibly.

Robert Hanlin

I'm really looking forward to how you go after this one Mark... I've got a similar one that's been in my shop for a couple years. It's in slightly better shape than yours but I can't get one of the top jaw screws to loosen up! I've tried heat.... Angel Piss..... EVERYTHING I can think of and it's still locked solid. The only thing missing on this double is the ram rod! I'll try and remember to send you some pictures...

Oh, my!

Looks like a nice piece of timber under the grot - will be interesting to understand the decision to go back to flintlock if thats the way it goes. Hats off to an epic undertaking Mark

Bruce Brodnax

Aaaaand... the betting window is OPEN! How many episodes do *you* think this will end up as? My initial estimate was going to be six, but I think I'd better go with an eight-parter for all the ground Mark will have to cover... πŸ˜‰

The first 2 hour anvil awaits. I hope...

What a beautiful old piece. Shame that it wound up in such a state. Double guns have a special place in my heart, so I am Glad to hear this one is getting some well deserved love and maintenance. πŸ‘

Nuke Road Warrior

But did it belong to Lawrence of Arabia?😁 Seriously, looks like an interesting and difficult project. Good on ya for tackling this project. I expect most gunsmiths would run screaming in terror from this.

Just pure :jawdrop:

Martin Morehouse

This is a resurrection rather than a restoral. Looking forward to it!

Doc Billing

Splendid. I suspect you approached this one with a little trepidation. Never fear for Thou Art the Carbon Based Life Form and are blessed with thumbs and hammers. Who else could do it? Something for me to look forward to in the New Year. I'm especially glad I'm not paying for it... my compliments to the gentleman who is.

Very very cool, can’t wait to see you work some magic.

Incredible piece of history, It Looks like a lot of work.

This will certainly make a cool Anvil.πŸ‘

Now thats a video I want to watch. Are you planning on repairing the box as well?

Alfred Gawron

I'm really looking forward to this project! I'm sure it's gonna be many hours of hard work, so please, please show as much as possible.
