Yes. She also provided the north with ammo, which significantly increased the quality of their troops as they could actually learn to aim.

Interesting that Lee surrendered, I guess that's a result of Ariane's influence pushing Grant to be top general instead of Meade? And without Lee it makes sense the war wrapped up sooner, instead of dragging out to March 1865. Interesting if it would affect the 13th amendment, though *spoilers* she stopped Lincoln's assassination *end* so he'd likely push for that.

I feel like this is such a defining feature of this story, and I also feel like it was a process to get there. I remember 60 chapters ago, wondering how the author would go about pacing in immortal's life, when our perspective of time is entirely meaningless

Mecanimus

Well most of the cannons were made by her company haha.

Seri

"Backed by the most powerful artillery battery ever gathered in the conflict" I see Ariane has her priorities straight haha

Sassy

Gotta say, one of the things I love about this story is the 'montage' way of storytelling between important adventures. It builds out the world, and gives a sense of time passing. Rather than everything happening in 3 months, then an awkward time skip (hello Worm)

Mecanimus

No, because they are also quite racist, so no Mexico. Canada was wiped out as well.

definitely a transition chapter. but a good one. ties up loose ends and creates new problems. just like real solutions. good to see that Ari is politically and personally secure enough to negotiate on her own terms. while she is definitely punching above her weight in terms of power it seems very realistic given the amount of political/diplomatic power she wields.

Malir Blackspear

Transitional chapters always have a unique feel to them that puts me in a good mood. Thank you for the chapter.

I know the Gabrielites are mostly catholic and that most of the ones in the US have been wiped out. Do they have a bigger presence in Mexico and Canada with their more sizeable Catholic populations?

Mecanimus

Sorry I don't know if I mentioned it but they are mostly Europeans. Ari can't finish them off, unfortunately for her.

Mecanimus

Good, I always worry.

Heraclitus

Nice chappie

Andrew

Thank you!

MacDB

I don’t understand why they didn’t just slaughter the Gabrielites after the fight. I mean they were nearly extinct, they served no purpose and weren’t even useful temporary allies, and it was obvious after the big reveal there would be many who would flock to their cause again.

Young Youghurt

That Gabrielite hook or cliffhanger seems to me kind of absurd. I thought them basically extinct in similar fashion as Coelacanths but this scene suggested they could become a credible end game threat. Nah I am sure it will be all fine and sunny ehm I mean moony. Thank you for the chapter.
