Bah, there should have been at-least a few [Beastling Shamans]. Or do they only attack Viv ?

ShadeByTheSea

"The prince might even order a hecatomb: one inhabitant in a hundred randomly put to the sword. It was a harsh punishment, but it was within his rights." It's like nothing compared to what he already did the first time.

war doggle

If they add a few holes shaped right you can get some really loud shrieking whistles.

Morog T Tiny

easy weapon for arthur. lawn darts. handfuls of foot long spikes with fins. just add your favorite poison and dropped from 500ft up. no danger to arthur and she gets to play a new game. all night long hsssss thump followed by the occasional scream of pain.

Strange Loop Sleuth

But just think of what the Kazar infantry will think when the enemy finally emerges and they basically stumbles out of the woods in barely attached armor, out of formation and resembling poorly trained mercs rather than the prince's army. The captains may be in the know, but for the rest of them all they know is that Viv and some allies went into the woods and a week later half the enemy army is dead or injured and the rest wish they were. And then just mentally adding a tally to the list of reasons to never piss of Lady Bob.

There were 50-60 wounded as far as I can tell. 36 died previously, 5 were executed, 5 more just got incinerated. Somewhere in the realm of 110-120 out of 850? Though the loss of the Bishop is a large one, considering how many wounds deescalated due to his skills, so I'd expect attrition to set in a lot harder.

They'd kill the Prince's army, burn down Kazar, and then likely most of Enoria. They say "Reduce several HUNDRED LEAGUES to ash" So I'm assuming it's likely a "Kill your whole family, the cities they lived, and the places they visited to get there" kinda deal.

Perf

I’m glad I resubscribed just in time for chapter. What percentage of the invading forces were killed?

Winny

I just realized something, if Viv was heartless and didn't love arthur she could have asked the dragon to continue bombarding the army with fire. If the army killed arthur they would have brought the ire of the local dragons on them. Either the small dragon did enough damage to stop the invasion or they would kill the small dragon and destroy themselves. Unless I'm missing how dragons react to their race being killed.

Mecanimus

You have the sap the lake poison and the fire wasp pheromones.

Samuel

I only count 2 chemical weapons. Where is the third? or did I miss it?

Mecanimus

Next week, the conclusion...

Mecanimus

it's a good point. Beastling horde attacks are actually not systematic. They tend to eat a lot, therefore they tend to move a lot so being set upon by one is based on luck.

Mecanimus

Can I convince you to improve the rating against more dragonette?

Mecanimus

Thanks I appreciate it!

Mecanimus

Oh there is definitely going to be warfare involved.

Mecanimus

Thanks I check my mailbox frantically after I posted just to see if people like and this sort of comments are needed so I can sleep lmao.

Mecanimus

You're welcome!

Melting Sky

Yeah, I think he is insinuating there is still one more group of guests that are going to show up to this party before it's time to dance. Let the bloody carnival begin!

marids

'Not yet' eh? I'm gonna bet he means a lot more Hadals are still on-route to join up with Kazar or something.

John Evans

The prince like most leaders has leadership skills which influence people.

Nicholas Grey

I can no longer tell whether Talan is just religiously indoctrinated to a ridiculous degree, or whether he’s being more directly mind controlled by the prince.

Faiir

I don't see Talan as the bad guys sorry. The prince is an ass though.

fbt

taxidermy and an embarrassing pose involving farm animals? no, no, that's not it. Let him become undead, disarm him (literally), add armor so he's durable, and hang a sign around his neck. Then let him wander the wastes as a walking PR piece? no, that's not it. Tbh I can't really see Viv doing anything along these lines, it's both petty and fairly sketchy.

Young Youghurt

Everyone praising this chapter but I have to give it 0 out of 10 not enough burning pigs. Butterflies are a poor substitute for them. (Of course I am kidding for those too tired to get it.)

Winny

Great chappy! Though I am kinda curious why there has been beastling hordes yet? Is this a case of Viv thinning the population around the trail? You would think the amount of noise and scent of death/blood would have garnered the attention of at least a horde or two. Or is this a case of "To large to attack." Otherwise keep up the great work! Personally can't wait to see their expressions when they come face to face with Ordered troops with a broken path of an extinct empire. :D

Jon

Aww, 2-6... :( Another great chapter, despite the loss of 2-6. I love the relentless grinding down of the Enorian forces. Exhaustion and despair can be a real killer, after all, and they're getting that shit mainlined.

Morog T Tiny

The prince seems to be a fan of displaying and desecrating his enemies after death. I wonder what the best end to him would be?

Johannes Oest

It doesn't provide cover against a warmage that is basically like a bomber and can destruct huge areas in seconds. And they would probably find the hidden roads they made so the enemy can leave the road and walk around all the other traps.

Alnatura

Thanks for the chapter. To be honest the bishop death is worthless. Talon the mages, the healer guy and the champion are the highest priority to get rid off not some old bishop. I wonder why Viv is not doing hit and run tactics? She hasn't fired a big ass spell at them at all. And the woods shoud provide her with excellent cover.

Aaradur

Well, that last bit from Irao was ominous...

FormlessChimera

Thanks for the chapter. A little extra sad to see 2-6 die from an enemy perspective.

Deinos

Nice chappy once again

Jonathan

Great chapter! Irao's last comment is foreboding. Hopefully he doesn't go the sacrifice route. I think that 26 was a great choice for a char killoff as she has been around a while and so pulls the heartstrings but not MC yet. I kinda don't want any of the main cast to die.

Adam Mesa

Thank you for the chapter! Well written as always.

Tjark

Sad ending.

Elie

Thank you for the chapter, they couldn't win the war without losing some people, I am hoping for more Geneva convention breaking warfare to break what remains of their spine 😤.

luda305

Great chapter

william wallace

Damn you for making the bad guy relatable. Great chapter. Loosing 2-6 actually hit hard, for a small side character she still felt important. Now im wondering if Viv is going to tell Solfis to go play with the soldiers in response.

Andrew

Thank you!
