Now I see dragons as copyright lawyers

Those last two lines of dialog kinda jump between subjects unexpectedly. It feels like they need a transition. //Necromantic spells granted by the God of Scorn take that specific hue. Viv wondered what god she had to suck up to to get her spells colored pink. She shook her head and turned away from the dead cultists. “Enough delays. I can’t wait to get back to Kazar.

Mecanimus

Oh I didn't explain but since many of them were necromancers she assumed that everyone was at the very least aware that something was wrong and decided to take no chances. Viv is not the most empathetic person around.

Mecanimus

Yeah I wanted it to come as a surprise but it was perhaps not the best idea.

Mecanimus

Paradoxically I did too little and too much in this mini arc, I think. I wanted to show that but it's only a glimpse.

crusaderstar

I like the improvements, but it did highlight that it seems extreme for viv to butcher them all when there was only proof amehe was the bad one? Like, couldn't they have servants or whatever who were innocent?

Simon Casey

Thanks for being willing to edit for clarity! The changes made a difference, at least for me. The battle flows well, and while Amehe’s reveal as a necromancer is still abrupt, knowing that Viv was suspicious and how she confirmed those suspicions helps quite a bit.

Smaug

Good depiction of the types of deserters and bandits that try to go "legitimate" during the chaos.

Mecanimus

Good point I justified it in the edited version.

Mecanimus

Straight road to the genocidal maniac skill.

Melting Sky

The Dark Goddess of Skorn. I think the only time we've seen Her brought up was when they were discussing how horrific this blood feud of a war was going to be. Somebody mentioned that the generations-deep rancor driving the slaughter may even be sufficient to invoke Efestar.

Simon Casey

The heavies were the karazan soldiers that Solfis retrained into heavy infantry. The charging infantry were the raiders, attempting to take advantage of their mage choking Viv’s soldiers. I thought it was pretty clear due to the heavies holding the defensive position and being attacked by the enemy caster, but some further description could have helped.

Haran

I found it a bit hard to follow the battle. For example who were the “heavies”? Heavy enemy cavalery or Heavy friendly infantry? Was the charging infantry friendly or what?

Yeah I agree, it kinda came out of nowhere, and there wasn't much build up to the reveal. But at least the actual issue is sorted now.

Elie

With her power and some support from crossbows and Solfis and couldn't she have simply murdered the Elix guy and his retinue then walked out on the confused forces? They didn't exactly deserve any sort of consideration.

mogust (Issy)

Thanks for the chapter :)

Adrian Gorgey

huh, wasn't expecting her to be a cultist

StarWolf

Nice chapter

Aaradur

Ah, arthur disdaining personality theft is so cute! Who is that efestar god again though?

Heraclitus

Nice.

luda305

The big reveal at the end was a little hard to follow. And a bit abrupt.

Young Youghurt

Noice. Napoleon used artillery in the streets of Paris and became the Emperor of the French not France. Viv could borrow his approach. Wink wink Especially if she wants to keep the impression of freedom and meaningful elections and massacre royalist scum in the streets

Andrew

Thank you!
