Mecanimus

Then you might enjoy the end of this arc >:D

K

But what a half hour! It's all great, but this chapter. Wow! Loved the alternate POV!

Mecanimus

If it took only killing to get the skill, it would have been discovered already.

Nicholas Grey

I’m presuming that there is a series of titles for each race: [xyz killer] - [slayer of xyz] - [xyz nightmare], potentially with a few steps in between. Is it collecting all the top level ones that gets you [Genocidal Maniac]? If so, which race is Solfis missing? Asking for a friend.

Mecanimus

Don’t worry I have a plan ;) and thank you as well for supporting me. I can keep writing 10k words a week because of my patrons including you so yeah. It’s just a shame that you all read it in half an hour lmao.

Alnatura

Ahh thanks :) we'll there must be some amazing stuff hidden in the desert and in the ancient woods around kazar 😁. Great story BTW. I didn't really thought this could be better than Journey and I hesitated a good while before trying it out. It is more amazing than I ever thought possible. Great work, your writing makes the world feel alive and the people aswell. Great work 😍. Ps: ib woud be Grat and shitty if the God of War gets to notice her for "inventing" guerilla warfare. Let's hope, if that shoud ever happen, her identification skills sucks xD

Mecanimus

No she has to find a way to turn part elemental before her attunement reaches that level. She can only use black mana and colorless mana.

Alnatura

So just to understand this. She has to learn/get/develop a new magic attunement and level that up before the black one hits the 50% mark or she dies a horrible death?

Mecanimus

Of course he will. Might not help much though!

Tacky wheat1

They are so dead. Bishop's words were very foreboding. Also I wonder if Talan will ever reveal what he discovered LOL

Mecanimus

Her side of the room I mean. Opposite the Enorians.

ShadowBlah

"the witch gracefully sat on her side" was a very confusing sentence. I didn't understand how that's physically possible E: i also like the pov shift

Dryxal

800 trained soldiers was actually quite a lot in those times, especially in the middle of a brutal civil war. If it is 200ish trained soldiers and 600 conscripts, then yeah, that is a bit sad with a system available.

RageBone

The population of Kazar will lay down their weapons and subjected to our laws [...] maybe "be subjected" or something else?

RageBone

Marvelous. Things i noticed:

tibbish

LOL they only got ~800 men??? For a Prince, especially as high and mighty as this one acts, that sure is pathetic. Oh well, plenty of fools go to war too right? Around half will end up dying in that forest I bet. The other half will be worn down a fair degree by the time they get to the city. They're gonna get massacred. Or at least they should anyways if the MC is competent. Which she sure seems to be.

Noah

agreed

ShotoGun

Could be magical dysentery.

Melting Sky

The author responded to one of my past comments on this subject. Her draconic surrogate mother status is only visible to dragons and herself. Remember that tag isn't a standard one, it was added as a bit of an improvised joke by the God of the system.

This chapter must be the best of the book so far, and the book has been phenomenal.

jcox

"Most gratuitous act of dickery ever witnessed" is a lot of hype to live up to for a poison. I'm looking forward to that. :)

Kota

Man this really shows how dangerous and insidious a well-woven (and possibly skill-supported?) web of lies can be. It's just so terrible to see how many not completely aweful or even decent people will fight and die for such a heinous cause, just because an ass like Lancer can make them believe it's just. Just thinking about it gets me down a little. Anyway, good job on making the reader really hate the villain! Also Solfis might be the best character in this entire story.

Maury

ah, rip their water

Aapjuh

thought the inspection of viv would show a title relating to dragons, wasn't she a adoptive mother of a dragon?

Reid Palmquist

Nice! Quite enjoyed the alternative pov. Would be interesting to see the results of the guerilla warfare from his perspective as well.

Elie

The Solfis inspection was legendary, it’s the kind of writing you just don’t forget and go back to just to feel the chills again, bravo !

Deinos

Damn nice chappy

Az6

Cliffhanger.... Rrrrr

Thorlol

I loved the in-depth inspection of the trio. But it would have been really helpful to see such an inspection on someone of the opposing party. Just to compare. Because even though the guy was scared shitless he still believes in their superiority in some ways. The Bishop of Neriad was also funny, his second goal is visiting the temple in Kazar and he will make his way there with Prince Lancer... as if Lancer will ever put a foot in Kazar other then for his execution :D

Young Youghurt

Can't wait to see/read guerrilla warfare done by Viv's and Solfis army. I have just seen the Dune and even though this in jungle it will still be enhanced by that experience. Perhaps one day Bob shall also get big screen adaptation.

Mecanimus

15 minutes.

Mecanimus

It's such a good one. The Donitz sketch is precious as well.

Mecanimus

He's a decent one.

marids

Heh, 'Kick his ass'. Neriad is such a bro. In fact I think this counts as a ''DEUS VULT!'

Young Youghurt

Please more chapters from the maggots point of view. I absolutely enjoy how they squirm. Thank you.

Kemizle

How long was that meeting that they waisted there 15 minutes?

Grahf

I love the reference to the Mitchell and Webb sketch with the "Are we the baddies?" line(or the meme it spawned I guess). I recommend anyone to watch the sketch if you haven't seen it already. Just search Youtube for "Are we the Baddies? Mitchell and Webb" or check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hn1VxaMEjRU (if links work here)

Andrew

Thank you!

Jeff Fischer

It would be "raised suspicious".

Aaradur

Soul healed! I really am liking Neriad as a character, having gods who are actually good rather than just not as evil as the dark gods is also nice

william wallace

The moment the poor inspection dude realizes that his entire existence is nothing more than a meat filled bag of XP.

Mecanimus

Thank you! I had such fun writing it.

Mecanimus

I love this chapter. Really.

Mecanimus

That was the plan actually.

Mecanimus

Alas.

Mecanimus

I already killed four people! :0

Mecanimus

Hahahaha. You are so cute. As if she would do something so basic.

Mecanimus

Yes, very well spotted. I hate those guys. And Talan is the sort of blind follower that allows them to exist.

Mecanimus

I'll wait for the grammarians to invade my Gdoc.

Nicholas Grey

"She said the word in a way that arose suspicion in Talan, as if Kazar was only part of it." - 'Arose' is the wrong verb there, but I'm not sure what the right one is. 'To arise' follows the same rules as 'to rise' - you can't "arose [something]", it has to be "[something] arose" You need the equivalent of "Raise", but I don't know what that is for this phrase. -- "Before Tala could recover, a white, scaled form landed smoothly from above." - 'Talan'

Nicholas Grey

A very clear illustration of what happens when you cross a sociopath with a zealot, and garnish with noble privilege: a mind which deeply, truly *believes* that "Everything that I desire is by definition good and right and just. Anyone or anything that disagrees or opposes me is by definition evil and must be destroyed". Add in the mind control that is clearly in evidence, and everyone else starts seeing things the same way, and twisting their interpretations of events they see right in front of their eyes, in order to favour him...

Wyv

This to draw them into that death trap of a forest recklessly?

Sebin Paul

All this teasing is torture, bring on the blood! Great chapter 😁

Razavn

The most annoying thing about reading a released chapter is knowing I have to wait for the next....

Jon

I loved this chapter. Great from start to finish. I wouldn't mind seeing more of the conflict from the opposing POV, if that is possible.

Oxylus

I loved that second PoV. Best pov of someone observing the MC party I've read in a long time. So satisfying. Solfis is great but, oh my, Arthur's part is absolutely amazing as well. Ahhh can't wait until next chapter!

Louisthau

That Solfis identify section where the only thing the guy can basically think is "We dun' fucked up." GLORIOUS !

luda305

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck Edit: my heart was racing for a good chunk of that. Bravo.

Brieuc Sauzeat

That chapter was incredible ! Thanks you

Mecanimus

Disclaimer, writing Solfis' inspect was one of the most satisfying writing experiences ever for me. Good old Solfis.
