good chappie

phantom

As people have said. Keep in mind Ariane did say she tried to get her killed 3 times on technicalities over one meeting. Word of the queen. pretty sure people "trusted" the word because they were not allowed to refuse.

phantom

It will have a huge impact on logistics though. The warships do not need tracks, are unconcerned with environment, and are difficult to take down do to flying.

phantom

I think it is just a simple matter you can not really skim over the Bingle chapters in writing without losing context. That or there is not much new to write about her and Torren unless you want to go in depth on certain stuff.

phantom

They tried to enforce the rules because of politics. They became corrupted by it. I think at least. Still not sure the gain of attacking her after she already had proven people have gotten away with violating the rules. That to me just seems like you will enforce with an iron fist only when it is revealed.

RonGAR

@agentfransis Yes, this is true. She does tend not to live up to the 'spirit of the deal. She says she will take Nirari with her when she goes, but she could let him stay, slaughter all the vamps on earth, or do massive devastation, then peel out. That's also an option. If she did that, she would still be fulfilling her side of the bargain, and keeping her wrathful son happy. Because at the end of it all, he is still leaving with her as promised. I see your point.

AgentFransis

And Semiramis has a track record of trying to weasel around informal verbal agreements...

AgentFransis

Not really. They will have an impact obviously but you can only have so many ships compared to the massive scale of armies involved. And trenches and bunkers work just as fine against airborne artillery as they do against the land based one. To get a WWII you need mass motorization and aircraft which seem to be on a roughly historical progress track.

AgentFransis

Counter counter argument: Bingle is lame and Torren is cool.

Pierre Steiner

It's a matter of wording more than paper. She's wary that Semiramis would give a loosely worded promise and then exploit it, sticking to the letter rather than the spirit of it. A carefully worded contract prevents this type of mischievousness because indeed, in the magical word, contracts are actually binding.

RonGAR

I admit that I agree with Semiramis. Ariane sometimes strays too far from her/the natural ways of her ppl. Like when she demanded a 'contract' to solidify the agreement between her and Semiramis(Grandmother lol). As if she will take Semiramis to 'court' if that agreement is broken. In their world, if you break your word, you break something within yourself; and I believe it's something you are going to miss! THEN you'll still have to deal with the fallout of breaking your word and face those whom you betrayed. Ultimately, it's just not worth it.

Tarodan

Mecanimus confirmed a few months ago that the story would end sometime in 2023, if my memory serves me right. Maybe I'm confusing it with Azarinth Healer.

RonGAR

Hmmm I am thinking since technology is so advanced already, WW1 will play out more like ww2. With the notable exception, that anything that had to do with sea warfare will most likely take place in the air.

RonGAR

Yes, I know. And like I already surmised. This isn't a 'love story', so I concede to your point.

Cormac

Bingle affects reality and is important to the fate of Earth. Torran is just a vampire. Bingle chapters should take precedence.

Leviathon251

Trenches are going to be redundant with flying ships being a thing. I really wonder how you'll depict WW1 if you do because it will be almost entirely different.

Guessed

Thanks for the chapter! A few errors jumped out but most seem to have been fixed post-email, except notably this sentience which seems to end halfway through, seeing as it starts with "either": > Either they are honest, and they are part of the game, a game that has run for a long time and known many competitors, most of whom are dead.

Sure let's have an ending, then a sequel series!

Ariane secret body guard time? WW1 on the horizon

Louis Nel

And the moment they're called out and someone takes action themselves; they try enforce the rules. I'm so happy it ended like that rather than a school arc.

RonGAR

Don't know why ppl ask this anymore. To me it's all about the journey. But if you are looking for an 'ending', just remember that the trick to a happy ending is knowing when to stop. Because if you keep any story going long enough, our heroine will eventually meet ONE conclusion. And I for one, don't want to know that she ever did.

RonGAR

I feel the same. There is al ot of things/relationship between groups I too feel should be further along than they are. I don't even know if any of the wolves had any kids yet and if so, what are the kids like???

RonGAR

I must admit... I sat there going 'Huh?'🤔 for a while there as I tried to remember where I overlooked Torran and Ariane's meeting after she returned from Fairie. Then I realized I didn't overlook anything and you squeezed that initial meeting into this chapter as a quick aside, as if it was an insignificant thing. 😔... Yet another example of a moment that could've been significant that was brushed over. Bingle gets 4 chapters, but our boy Torran barely got one. Oh well... I guess this isn't a 'love story' so I supposed I'll just have to 'eat my feelings' (Haagen Daz Ice - Rum Raisin or Butter Peacan) later on. Semiriamis showing WAS a surprise. I would've thought that girl Blake (From Detriot Werewolf invasion) would've shown up before I saw Semiriamis again. It was interesting to see her position on what's to come. I Hope Ariane gets the spell Semiriamis is using to 'ethically' drain power from the world. Or her grimoire. She is leaving the world anyway, so what use are those to her? And it's not like Ari is gonna chase after them and they will have some epic cosmic battle later. So why not leave a cheat sheet for our girl Ari? Hmmm to hear about Adad Nirari and his minions using the tunnels undisturbed while preparing to dominate/possibly enslave mankind, leaves me worried that Ari is letting a situation develop that she should prevent or be trying to sabotage. 🤔Hmm, the French treatment our girl received makes me hope that she has a way to disable the spell that keeps all her enemy ships in the sky if it ever becomes a situation of 'Them Vs Us'. That aside. There were a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes in this chapter. It was noticeable enough that I felt I had to speak out and give you a heads up. Thank you anyway for the chapter.

I'm still mad at the knights for being such hypocritical idiots. They literally had one job, enforcing the rules without bias. Jerks.

Arlano

I though that Arianne would have pushed for more acceptance toward every magic folk on her own turf of Illinois or Marquette by now. She was more meddling when she was still Ari of the Dream (your best arc).

Arlano

Will Seminaris enter the Dragon book club?

Arlano

The prophetized apocalypse of the time of ash and thin air with the final battle was prophetized a little after the year 2000 I think.

Andrew

Thank you!

What year in the novel do you plan on finishing Journey? Any chance we can see beyond even modern times?
