Umm did the really make love in the necrarch's lair, right next to 4 people who would most likely notice? Or did I just misunderstand what the celebration entailed

steamrick

Pretty sure she got mana manip 2 in an earlier chapter, it was stated as intermed 1 in the last chapter

Midjji

You are not the only one who has or will learn the truth. Most people dont have access to solfis sources. Besides i think he might be the last remnant of the butcher.

Amit Gupta

I don't think Solfis is surprised at Humans ascending, rather, he's surprised Estefar was aligned with the light gods.

jcox

Solfis is the one who told Viv back in part 1 that if someone hits 100% attunement, "They become the next god of magic". So, the Harrakans at least knew a human could become the GoM. And yet, Solfis seems surprised to find out the rest of the pantheon are ascended humans too. Is the GoM just a special case?

Samuel

You also forgot 'Flexible Constitution' in 'Current Status'

Winny

Thanks for the chappy, With viv wanting a defib, would be hilarious if she figured iut how to to use colourless mana to send jolts into hearts to get it pumping again? And throwing the church for another loop in healing.

Flaminbojangles

Thx

Catherine

When Arthur first started breathing fire she coughed it onto Vivs arm leaving her with a burn scar

Catherine

“Viv kept pumping, two per seconds” —> should that be per second or is a number missing?

Flaminbojangles

When did she get a scar from Arthur?

Samuel

You have [Draconic Intimidation: Expert 2] in chapter 89 as well chapter 121. So that should make it [Draconic Intimidation: Expert 3] in chapter 121 as well as this chapter. The more intimidation the better.

Nicholas Grey

Re: divine *intervention*, I wouldn’t say that’s really the case, any more so than regular healing spells. I get the impression that the “priest required” part of her two-step process isn’t really anything especially fancy, given it has been done with minimal instruction from her by several priests of several different gods (the first healing session for Sidjin was assisted by a priest of Entikku). That said, re: “utterly no problem”, Viv is explicitly extremely difficult to heal using standard methods, due to her black mana saturation.

Catherine

What about Nous? What was he doing?

As far as I know "No battle plan survives first contact with the enemy" is a quote from Moltke, who commanded the Prussian army or just reformed it, not sure anymore. So the army that defeated France in the Franco-Prussian war. So a quote from one of the men who was responsible for the coronation of the German Emperor in the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles. As I said, I only know it from Moltke so far, but I'm happy to be taught otherwise. She was French, wasn't she, or have I got something mixed up? I somehow remember that she was in the French army.

Mecanimus

No, just forgot him :/

Fervent Fiend

Was it intended to leave Neriad out? I kind of like the idea of that god being slightly pretentious, cribbing off the accomplishments of others, and sweeping under the rug all the shady shit people do in his name for “justice”.

RageBone

i pretty much disagree, nothing was easy or casual.

deus vult

viv with her divine spark can only do lots of overpowered shit. she has accomplished the impossible several times over with the threat of death. she had done it so casually it seemed easy. now, I imagine, what five of her could do...

Mecanimus

I fucking forgot Neriad. Will edit.

Mecanimus

It will remain where it is.

Mecanimus

The hands will heal later yes.

jcox

Well, I think that's all the gods except for Nous in the carving. I wonder what he was doing during the celestial revolution.

Thomas Payne

Great chapter, thanks!

lenkite

Should be utterly no problem replacing damaged tissue on the finger when the Priests are not busy. Minimal work for them. Also, I don't see healing damage taken in battle as vanity - esp against this enemy. The Arthur scar can stay since its sentimental.

MrrC

What happened to that cursed garden?

Melting Sky

Her healing requires Neriad's divine intervention to work. He doesn't seem like the sort of God who would be impressed with such vanity.

luda305

Nascent necrarch shield should say core.

lenkite

"“Between the dragon scar on my arm and now this, Nyil isn’t good for my skin.”" Considering she can create limbs from monster slush, this is easily fixable. Cut off tissue or limb and re-create it. I don't know why some authors like to make their female MC's all heavily scarred up - especially after giving them unique access to BOTH limb healing and restoration. It causes readers eyes to roll hard. Done for [Drama] sake.

lenkite

"more even around Solar who loved the least of all" Don't follow this.
