New Patron here as well, gotta say I absolutely fucking love it! Most enjoyable are the dialogues (especially Solfis' jabs) and the preparations, as in battle preparation vs. the actual fight since visualising long fights tend to be borish and I tend to skim thru them. Aside from small scale fights or duels. Any thoughts on increasing the realease schedule or chapter lenght? A week is too long for me to get my fix! Do you have a clear ending for the Bob in mind? How many chapters do you think it would take? Also...when do we get the promised genocidal maniac?

I really prefer to avoid the gamey or predetermined feeling of leveling up. I prefer my litRPG elements to reflect and influence reality rather than breaking it. It can be fun though...

Great chapter, can't wait for the next one. Also Hi! New Patron here, love Journey and Bob. Now onto a bit of a monologue: I loved all the Path options. Usually in Novels with Classes/Paths there is always the one obvious option the MC is gonna take, cause it's the only fitting one. The rest are usually only technically fitting or for comedy. In Bob all Paths were fitting and viable options for Viv. Tabula Rasa is a path most fitting to her, seen from an outsiders perspective, with her rebellious attitude and acts (like regicide). Abyssal Conduit is the path expressing Viv loving magic and magic loving her back. Only problem is magic is like the sun: come to close and you die. If not for her dying the Path is fitting. Abyssal Lady doesn't need to be mentioned, with it being the natural continuation of Lost heiress. It is the (theoratically) perfect option for her current situation in life. Now Ascended is less about where she is now, but where she wants to be in the future and the direction the story is heading. Ascended also touches on a topic regarding all Paths and possibly the System itself imho. Personally I love the concept of Path in comparison to Class and think it's the superior form of the "Class System" for storytelling. Classes imply that a person becomes basically in part a video game character, which the concept of LitRPG and GameLit obviously stems from. That is fine and also the charm of the genres with the progression from nobody to DBZ character and/or god. But my personal problem with the classes and the exp, is the world feeling less immersive. Progression through classes and leveling always subtly implies that the character, is in fact a video game character and depending on the system it's a good game or a bad one. That's where the simple name change from Class to Path changes this perception fundamentally while fulfillingthe the same role. A path can mean a trail one walks, has walked and will walk. It can also mean a choice or a way of living, a doctrine. A Path stands for how you live, have lived and will live your life and therefore who or what you are. A Path also means a destination to be reached and in this story it will most likely mean Divinity. If now everyone has a Path they walk and the destination is Divinity, it becomes theoratically possible for any human to become a god no matter which Path they choose. With some luck and extreme dedication there could someday be a God of Cleaning, for example. Some Paths are probably easier to walk and make it easier to reach the destination. "Ascended" should is an example of just that: an easier and/or a more direct Path toward becoming God. Leveling becomes less gamey and more a journey..... So yeah that's about it.
