I always thought Shinoda’s wife’s position here was stupid. At the end of the day she does have the bigger backing. She has a true B rank house

Eleeyah

What was Nestra's continued reaction to the revelation of Ragnarok correctly guessing at her identity? What thoughts ran through her head, and what conclusions did she draw?

M. Lampi

Shinoda knew exactly how deep in it she was. the Integrity Bureau didn’t fuck around. ==> Shinoda knew exactly how deep in it she was. The Integrity Bureau didn’t fuck around.

that was tastyyy

DM

Was this the only favor Ragnarok wanted back?

JustMe

I was about to comment something along the lines of "have you tried xyz" but then I considered whether I'd rather have sex or read changeling...well, I am with you :3

DrNutella

It's not that bad. Now it just looks like the Palladian’s have major pull with Ragnarok, since everyone will just assume she used her familys connections. But yeah eventually the mask will fall and it will likely be because she overplayed her hand and it is going to be so bad. The story keeps pointing out her hubris and almost every villain so far was also affected by it in a pretty big way. It is a fitting underlying theme in a story about superpowerd people.

Darkenedone

Tbh, Nestra played this pretty badly all things considered. At least, she’s very publicly and inexplainably linked to Ragnarok now and that could easily come back to haunt her given her identity. And it mostly came together because the other side fucked up. Granted, Stibbs has Sereth and wanted to be there, but Nestra set her up to take a hit too. In a better world, Ragnarok would have inexplicably assigned another of Ito’s enemies and a team with actual area expertise. Alas, Hubris…

Ecthe

“General Ragnhild Lidstrom, sir. Countersigned by Shinran.” Ouch. Ragnarok really doesn't pull her punches. I expected her to pressure a director or something, but signing the order herself and getting Shinran to countersign it...

Kota

I think there's more to it: Said politician obviously committed a crime not just against anyone, but someone wealthy, powerful and well-connected. I'm sure it also didn't help Shinoda that she was opposition. Considering the world Nestra lives in, I don't think she would have stood a chance without her connections to the High Gleam elite that basically stand as gods above the law, or if Shinoda was similarly well-connected. And it might have been more difficult if Shinoda was in league with the mayor instead of running against him. So rest assured the system is just as bent, corrupt and unfair as it always was - it's just in Nestra's favor this time.

GSN

This is better than sex!

David Morrison

Awesome thanks

"I don’t abide people who do the nastiest shit before hiding back under ‘decorum’ and ‘prestige’ once the boomerang of consequences returns unlubed." Between Journey, Bob and Changeling, this might be my favourite sentence you have written. Also, harridan is an excellent word.

Mantarok1205

Jolly good!

Good chapter. I kinda wish Nestra used something from Shinoda’s BS speech earlier to throw back in her face “hmmm you were right, it is amusing when the nail finds out it can be hammered just like the other nails” or something. That whole speech was an essay on stupidity, why are you threatening someone who can get signatures from two people who you can’t even get to talk to you. This should actually be good for the Palladian’s as well. Most people will think they have pull with Ragnarok or Shinran for her to get that writ of power. Also thanks for the word harridan I’m almost positive I haven’t seen that before and had to look it up.

Adam Davies

Delicious. Thank you.

Leviathon251

So good as usual! Looking forward to Nestras Enclave exploits.

Doctor Zero

So a politician went to jail simply because they had obviously committed a crime? This book is so unrealistic. Please excuse me, I need to have a little cry...

Tsorov

It got more boom than changeling. That makes Journey objectivly better.

Kazith

What a great chapter! So intriguing and I love how you closed the entire Kim story in one fell swoop.

AgentFransis

I love Changeling but so far I consider Journey the stronger work. It just has that special charm to it.

Ty

Thanks for not dragging this out and making us wait until next week for a resolution....I'm genuinely grateful. I don't think I could handle Shinoda's smug face for another week. Thanks for the chapter.

DAK

Not sure if arson or getting take out salad from the local steakhouse is the greater crime, but it’s always good to see justice happen. Thanks for the chapter!

Manlor

I loved this arc and I'm happy it didn't drag on. It was just the right length. Very satisfying.

Andrew

Thank you!

Jed Wolfgang

That was fun.

NoReTr3aT

This was fantastic. Great conclusion to the arc and not dragged out. The involvement of the proper system to nail the baddies was great, because Nestra solving a case like this alone would have been unrealistic.

NoReTr3aT

So much hubris is in character. It is perfect. To be fair, after getting shit on her whole life such a big W gotta feel extra great.

NoReTr3aT

Journey is a true Vampire story and not about people with pointy teeth. I loved it.

LenoraeKB

I liked this arc. Short and sweet. If it had been much longer I think it would have dragged but it was just long enough for the end to be really satisfying without overstating its welcome

ikbenbarry

This chapter was great from start to finish and I have to say it is kind of refreshing to have a protagonist that works with the legal system for once. Even if she does use it like a pile of bricks that she can throw at people.

Kennyevilmonkey

Nestra having to brag to everyone that will listen, to the point of being insufferable, is just helarious. Lol 😆

David Brims

Absolute comedy gold. Such a good chapter.

phantom

"Damn, those unfortunate allosexual people falling for the old honey pot. Sex affected their judgment, obviously, the poor things." Oh Ariane found the solution for that.

pheonix89

Geeeet dunked on!

phantom

I wouldn't say Ito is dumb. his main mistake was working with a spiteful fool.

phantom

Mecanimus has come along way. I personally think Journey always showed potential. It may have been rough around the edges but it did not rely on doing the same old same old.

phantom

So I take it the favor was used as a humility check. and also that he helped her this way to give her training.

Orange Thistle

Thanks for the chapter. It was very satisfying.

Nathan Ganesan

Nestra did the funni.

trufflezz

This was a fun chapter, I liked it.

Endoria

May he inspire the next Antagonist

DrNutella

I must say Changeling realy seems like your best work so far. I liked Journey a lot and Bob is awsome but Changeling has impressed me since chapter 1. The flawless and original worldbuilding, the interesting and complex characters... it all just clicks.

thomas j walters

Nestra is adorbs

Emanuil Glavchev

Ahhh... Satisfying. I laughed so much during this chapter.

Graham Kinnear

May Isha have mercy on you and your household. Lol. Great chapter btw

Vincebourgh

VINDICATIIIION!

The Bandersnatch

That's cos Papa Nurgle loved you!

ShadyDemoness

He loves you very much XD

Jarkko Kotaniemi

That was a satisfying finish. I had such a gleeful grin on my face reading the reveal.

WarStrider72

Thanks for the chapter boss!

Mecanimus

Chappie kinda big to wrap up the arc, hence the one day delay. The official schedule remains in place for now, I'm just busy irl because my house has been blessed by Grandfather Nurgle.
