Sgt. Tibs

For real...poor cats.

RonGAR

That is great for her, but what about the other members of "THE PEOPLE" ? Aren't they powerful enough to cause 'anomalies' to satellites now?

Flynn Mandrake

Once Nestra is powerful enough for her bullshit to be picked up by satellites, she probably doesn't need to worry too much about recognition anymore

AntiClimax she her

I'm worried about when they delve the portal world they snagged from the Jade user. If they hit hard enough, Nestra may be forced to reveal herself to her brother.

Kota

Yeah, at this moment we're all just waiting for the other shoe to drop...

Leviathon251

The law might forgive but God won't >:3 no one hurts innocent little kitty's on my watch lmaooo

RonGAR

Juusssttt had a thought: That new 'satellite' system may not be able to detect Human Nestra, but it should be able to detect 'anomalies' everywhere Nestra transforms into demon Nestra. After a while, I think they will match up with these constant anomalies and figure out that it keeps happening everywhere human Nestra is. Hmm Then again, there are others, right? From "The people"? They will cause 'anomalies' as well. That should mask Nestra's comings and goings. Right?! But either way, these 'anomalies' will be investigated sooner or later. Especially when they are seen to be 'on the move'. #JustSayin

Clifton

End of last chapter. Old friend from school.

DAK

He’ll get off. No worries. His ‘admission’ was way too nebulous to stick as long as he keeps his mouth shut going forward.

Aifhwinx

he's an ass, so is nestra tbf but she's the protagonist so we tend to align with her. atm, ulysses is still giving me the vibe of a person who's having a decade of false perceptions of someone broken piece by piece. don't expect either of them to warm up too much to the other anytime soon, but i wouldn't be surprised if they end up cordial before nestra has to leave

Aifhwinx

introduced last chapter: gleam prep-school friend of nestra

Manlor

Only death sentence is enough for this crime! 😮

RonGAR

🤔Hmmm, Why do I have the 'feeling' there is going to be a major incident either in the portals where the major hitters of the Palladian family went, or other guilds or known adversaries of the family are going to choose 'now' to move against the Palladian's, since it only Nestra(D+), Helena (D) and Ulysses(B-) holding down the fort?

wd40bomber7

Who was Sylvie again?

Leviathon251

OK that got me. Guy got busted for his side hustle wth. He was just doing a little market manipulation... not so bad really. Lmao

H.

I feel like things will bubble over soon. It has been too happy and cozy for the past few chapters

Daemion

He's older? Huh. Weird, I thought he was one or two years younger than her, since she was their heir to the family... Anyway, I'm not defending him. I'm just saying that everyone has their own perspective and their views don't necessarily need to match up with reality. If Ulysses feels slighted and believes that Nestra's actions were thoughtless, heartless etc. then this gives him reasons for his behaviour. He might be objectively petty, childish, abrasive and dismissive but from his perspective his actions are justified. Everyone has their reasons, even though it doesn't mean they are right or true.

Mantarok1205

Jolly good!

AntiClimax she her

You're talking like he's the little brother. He was an adult when she, a teen, left. I don't know about her lording it over him. He was an adult, a gleam. Either he turned down the position of heir, or their parents kinda screwed both of them by naming a younger child who hadn't even awakened yet over her older brother. But the fact remains that she was a child, and he was not. He was awakened. She was not. She was devastated, and he was not. Yeah, he saw the family hurt, but despite being an adult, he chose to act like a spoiled child. Nestra has grown up. He is still acting like a child. I can certainly understand him being upset when she left. I can understand him wanting distance due to social pressures. This isn't the first time it's been mentioned that Nestra being coreless made it difficult for him to find someone to marry, and as the heir that was important. His complete dismissal of her, though, until she awakened, was just really childish, as if her being in his space would somehow infect him. I think people treating her like that was part of why she *had* to leave, for her own health. I really don't understand why people feel the need to defend him.

Denva

Great explanation

Daemion

Most people have valid reasons for their behaviour, even though those reasons might only be apparent to them. A lot of what we experience is internal and we all have our own narratives and biases. I'm not saying that Ulysses is a good brother but look at it from his perspective. Nestra was the heir and supremely talented, she lorded her skills over him for all their childhood. Then it turned out she wasn't a gleam and she rejected her family without an explanation, leaving him to pick up the pieces and take over her role with very little preparation. That, as well as the hit to the family's reputation, got dragged up all the time in social settings and influenced how others saw and treated him. Then she came back into his life when she needed something but wouldn't commit to the family or guild. But still, everyone bends over backwards for her and she even gets a new core, finally elevating her to what she should have been. Now she might become a rival as she's a proper scion of their family again, even though she still doesn't really give a shit about anything. And Ulysses is supposed to smile and welcome her back with open arms? (I'm not saying this is what is actually going on but this is probably close to what his POV of the situation is.)

Vincebourgh

Ah yes, killing cats in an alleyway. What a well-adjusted individual. What a hero to aspire to.

Weldt

Thanks for the Tuesday fix

Jackjargon

Thanks for the chapter!

AntiClimax she her

I mean, he's nicer in this chapter than usual, but you've got to ask yourself why. And he tells you. Now that Nestra's not an embarrassment to him anymore, he can get with his girl. And Nestra can take some responsibility off his shoulders. That's not 'trying'. That's being a self interested twat. But maybe it can be a start. Hopefully. Sometimes actions and relationships started for selfish reasons can lead to change. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Bunny Waffles

Anyone who harms kitties deserves instant, brutal death. No trial, instant execution.

The Bandersnatch

The fact that he has those habits in the first place makes him a twat imo

Daemion

He's trying. You don't change habits like that overnight.

PickledTink

I am sad she did not break every bone in the mans body :(

Damian Karis

DEATH PENALTY!! Murdering cats is a capital offense!!

The Bandersnatch

Ulysses is still a giant twat

Unwillingmainer

Glean life is a very fun and cozy cage. That is going it make it once she leaves all the worse.

Adspartan

Hey, maybe Crescent can help a bit with the clearing !

TheBotler

Thank you!

XystOblivion

Thanks for the chappy!

WarStrider72
