Vilab

that dragon pitstop was hilarious, thanks for the chapter

Sardeed

Can't wait for the official dragon members of harrak being basically landlords/nobles. Wanna invade harrak and disrupt the food trade? Your fiery funeral.

Diego Rossi

One "light" goddes on one side, several light gods on the other. Maybe she should doubt more.

KnightRider007

Agreed, though I’d argue there’s potentially a plausible range of ability between “putting down undead who are a side effect of excess black mana” and “permanently killing a man who’s made it his entire, actively-developed Path to come back repeatedly”.

Jeanean

"The halal woman twisted a knife in his shoulder." I'm not sure if the Jewish condone canibalism, even if halal... Also, its hillarious how confused that dragon was XD (On that note, there were two typos in that scene, where you wrote "hold" instead of "hole".)

Roombot

Another dragon seduced by the prospect of having useful human minions and especially chefs 😉

KnightRider007

@Emily - some of them will probably join the Children of the Scales too 😄

David Morrison

Aaaargh... Tftc .... As your long suffering and dedicated readers we should get 2 chapters this week cause we didn't get one last week. Hint hint 😜

David Morrison

It certainly sounded kosher lol

Dietz

Hopecrusher breaking himself on The Brick is what I'm rooting for.

steamrick

Wasn't the 2:1 from *before* the king just walked from one side of the battlefield to the other?

Angela Roberts

Okay, that makes total sense!

Newbie_101

It's first mentioned when we meet him in Kazar. After he kills one of the mercs that was trying to break into Viv's house, Marruk asks him if he burned the body (since they are close to the dead lands). He says there is no need because what he kills stays dead.

Kennyevilmonkey

Give it a few years and the dragons will be regularly seen living in and visiting Harrak. Going to dragon salons to get their claws done and scales cleaned while enjoying tasty snacks and being pampered like kings and queens. Of course, these services won't be free, so these dragons will have to learn how to source an income so they can pay for it. And gods forbid if anyone ends up being stupid enough to attack their new favorite vacation spot. The attacking kingdom will just end up becoming a new source of income (Burned to the ground, all the gold stolen.) Arthor is going to drag all of her people into the sweet, loving, iron hard embrace of capitalism, one screaming lizard at a time. And the best part? They're going to love it! And it all starts with the first taste of fish sauce being free.

Mantarok1205

Jolly good!

Emily Gurnavage

Those kids will grow up to join the Yries detachment. Seem like 2 groups meant for each other.

Emily Gurnavage

"She didn’t like what it implied. It was a dark day when light gods defended both sides of a war." Not done yet, but I really liked that bit.

Clay Price

You are absolutely right, I didnt reread the RR chapter and had forgotten the 10talents not courier dragon

M. Lampi

More typos: to grow in strength ad time went on. ==> to grow in strength as time went on. should have landed long ago, but it hand’t. ==> should have landed long ago, but it hadn’t. covering everything in sight.A shield covered ==> covering everything in sight. A shield covered More than he even know existed. ==> More than he even knew existed. There was a hold where his bone used to be. ==> There was a hole where his bone used to be. a hold in the fabric of space opened ==> a hole in the fabric of space opened A lot of human died, more ==> A lot of humans died, more They smelled if human gods. ==> They smelled of human gods. and his new people was going to live. ==> and his new people were going to live. Young men and women im mail armor died ==> Young men and women in mail armor died supposed to wait for a lul in the bombardment ==> supposed to wait for a lull in the bombardment

Anonymonous

The Dark blade was thrown into a volcano by Arthur. Irao specifically says he doesn't need the fancy knife in that chapter. Is his skills

Axavia

Typo: “Aragan knew the speed of her arrows. She knew her own should have landed long ago, but it hand’t (SHOULD BE hadn’t). A loud bang showed where the two arrows impossibly collided. “

Clay Price

I'm curious if this was justa fine knife, wielded by the king and his terminal skills, or, is it just a coincidence that today's RR chapter is the one where in the Darkblades were crushed and the eponymous Darkblade itself came into their possession

KnightRider007

I mean, yes, but it was explicitly flagged when Entikku denied Viv’s request for “targeted personal redevelopment”

KnightRider007

“She froze like a beastling meeting a pack of children.” In any country other than Harrak, that expression would go the other way around 🤣🤣🤣

KnightRider007

grow in strength ad time went on. -> as time went on long ago, but it hand’t -> it hadn’t everything in sight.A shield covered Aragan - sight. A shield (missing space)

David Johnson

Honestly I'm hoping Hopecrusher meets Solfis. That almost can't help but be hilarious.

KnightRider007

Not sure you can be considered halal while still alive? Since you need specific tenets to be followed during the slaughter and preparation of the meat.

pelya

Irao just finished his main quest 'King of Assassins Who Assasinates Kings', now he's just going for 100% achievements like 'Kill the Unkillable'

Clifton

Compelled is a good description. Not only does Nero have his aura that overpowers everyone and doesn't let you rebel after submitting, but a lot of his army was conscripted from conquered nations.

Clifton

Aragan PoV was a nice reminder that every soldier present is a person who thought they were supporting a noble cause. Or were strong-armed into service. Either way, as usual, the young die at the command of the old.

Senko

I think Crest isn't used to fighting multiple allied groups. Even if they do crush Harrak the best he could achieve is making the others less effective by taking out the strategists. The other kingdoms would still fight on.

Kota

Yes, following orders is not a great excuse, even with a guy like Nero, who will kill not only you, but your loved ones as well if you show anything less than total, unquestioning, and enthusiastic obedience. But I think one should keep in mind what orders they followed, particularly if they were involved in any atrocities themselves. Otherwise you'd have to execute Nero's entire army to the last man. Just fighting on Nero's side shouldn't be a capital offence.

Kazith

Aragan perhaps, but Crest has been with Nero since the beginning and has directly contributed to the deaths of hundreds of thousands at this point. He hasn’t really made decisions that have reduced the suffering of his enemies or done anything to show that he’s worth redeeming. He just thinks Nero’s triumph is inevitable and is waiting for the war to end so that he can get away from it.

Senko

Not just Neriad they have only Maranor while every other light god is on the opposite side. That should be a lot of cause for concern especially when said side has redeemed a dark god.

Sam Duralde

Just following orders is not an excuse. They- especially Crest- were integral parts of Nero's war effort. Both of them should be executed if they survive the battle.

BelligerentGnu

Couple typos - hold -> hole

Craeth

I fucking CALLED it! What Irao kills stays dead! I didn't know it was a major focus of his path, though.

Epicmission

Loves the dragon part, “this way milord!” The entire segment was hilarious with how they treated him lol

Andrew

Thank you!

Roombot

And maranor/Nero deserve to burn for leading good people to such a tragedy

Stormbuilder

The whole thing was hilarious because they were basically taming a feral stray cat...a cat with wings and a fiery breath, but still a feral cat.

Elaine

good chappie

Kota

Some probably did. In the end, he received as much mercy as he showed his victims. Some might say he deserved no more.

Roombot

I honestly hope Aragan and Crest survive and are turned to Viv’s side. They seem like good people just trying to do what they think is right despite how horrible it is

DAK

Huh?

Kennyevilmonkey

If the writing was any more amazing than it already is, you would probably light your new keyboard on fire through the raw force of creation. Please be careful, keyboards can only withstand so much power.

Roombot

🤣

Roombot

Yeah, the interface said their morale was unshakeable. So what’s he gonna do? 😝

tr13ze

Thanks for the chapter 😁

Pariah Devalis

And supplies the sauce!

James Faulkner

LETS GOOOOO

Roombot

I loved the slaying of that undying assassin. How pathetic. When he realized he was really dying, he starts begging? What of all the people HE killed? Did they beg too?

Young Youghurt

It's nice in sense of intelligent. It's intelligent writing and that's why Meca rules!

Kota

Hm, I thought the battle started with the Maranorians outnumbering the Paramese more than 2:1. A lot has to happen before those numbers even out, didn't think we were there yet.

Arnon Parenti

Why eat the human that cooks your fish?

Kota

Yeah, only when good people feel compelled to serve an obviously evil cause, "nice" isn't the term I'd use. Still, I see what you mean.

Arnon Parenti

He doesn't have numbers anymore, he lost 10% to eve of battle desertions, then another 10% on the first day, then 5% on the night bombardment which was wholly one sided. Viv lost just about 10%. So if they started 100<80, they now have about 75<72 and most of Viv's forces are better trained, better organized and have better leadership and he lost a lot of elites while she lost front liners and is only now deploying her elites.

Jackjargon

That dragon is indeed mid revalation that attendants are kind of the best 👌

Kota

Reading this while listening to Elden Ring's Final Battle is ... an experience. Chills, I say. Also, Irao's title is very fitting. Real glad to see the end of Jar'ko, couldn't happen to a nicer person. Very fitting that he dies while trying to infiltrate an effing field hospital, slaughtering field medics and healers. Truly, he died like he lived - a massive asshat. With Aragan, it's both nice and saddening to see that Crest isn't alone and that there are probably quite a few people who follow Oleander but aren't complete monsters. When they realize they're doing something terrible, but also feel like they have no other choice, it's so ... sickening. (Also some mental disconnect on her part - yes, light gods protect both sides, but when you have the goddess of power and war on your side, and only (!) the enemy has the god of righteousness and purity, it might make you wonder if you're the baddies after all, light god or no - this isn't just a tragedy, it's a horrific crime, and if she thought a little harder or wasn't as befuddled by skills, I think she could see this. We've heard that Neriad's followers can often be found on both sides of a battlefield, as long as they fight righteously - the fact that they support only one side here should be telling to all who still care about being on the side of good.) Turning good people against each other truly is something where Maranor and her servants have the dark gods beat by a mile. Even if Maranor believes she and her faithful serve civilization, that doesn't make it any better when they devastate continents and bring far more death and destruction than Octas or Gomogog ever did. Maybe the distinction between dark and light gods isn't that meaningful when so-called Champions of Light regularly commit atrocities on a scale that makes the dark gods' schemes seem like harmless pranks in comparison.

Tsorov

Crest thought the storys were too unrealistic? He will see the onehundred crush his lines of elites with ease. Hopecrusher? The heavies have no hope, they have unyielding certainty in their victory!

FuriousDee

This was a nice reminder that their are good people on both sides

TheBotler

Thank you for the chapter

Red Viking

Absolutely excellent. Well worth the wait.

elijah pickett

I constantly wish I haven't hadn't discovered your stories several years ago, so that I could discover them now and have all of this to discover anew. All that just to say, thank you for the stories! Always fantastic!

Doctor Zero

She could be both.

Ford-Thomas Frank Loveland

Dragon society is gonna altered massively after this. Hell they may join main society after this instead of being so seperafe for fish sauce and attendants

Birgitte Pedersen

Hadal not halal. The halal woman twisted a knife in his shoulder. Reread and found this: A second cut, again every shallow. Every should be ever so?

InLucidReverie

Don't break your keyboard this time

Max E Malekzadeh

Thanks for the chapter!

Drakenclaw

Thanks for the chapter. They smelled if human gods. -> of human gods A second cut, again every shallow. -> very shallow side with shaky fingers to get faster. -> to be faster I especially like the PoV of He-Who-Huhs-A-Lot-And-Is-Terribly-Confused.

Konrahd_Verdammt

Good chappy. You write combat exceedingly well

Moatdog

They are fighting a LOSING battle good heavens. The only thing Oleanders got going for him is numbers. But Viv isn’t gonna run out of artillery any time soon

LenoraeKB

Yet another dragon learns the benefits of borgling servants

SDCard

Thanks for the chapter!

Aaron Greene

Yay!

WarStrider72

Hope you got a better keyboard!

WarStrider72

Thanks for the chapter boss!
