In my first week off social media, I have really noticed just how addicted to my phone I am. Instagram was the most addictive for sure, because of the endless scrolling and the way stories just flow right into the next one.
I still have a pretty constant urge to check my phone, and often am finding myself wanting to check Instagram. As of now, my plan is to stay off social media until those urges subside quite a bit. I am feeling better overall, and not having that pressure to post or share things and stories is giving me back a lot of my time. I don’t have any intention of staying off social media forever, but I do want to re-center myself and use it in a healthier way.

This last week I went to Cleveland for makeup work. I freaking loved the time in the snow! I’ll be going back a couple more times, so if you have any suggestions for things to do there, feel free to suggest them.
We’re currently filming Brother vs. Brother (season 8) and Celebrity IOU (season 3). It is WILD due to Covid and I am so impressed with our teams for pushing through all the struggles with testing, shipping delays, etc. Who knew that 2 years into this it would still be so nuts. 😅 I’m not a starstruck type of person, but I am real stoked about some of the celebs on this season of the show. Even though I’m not the one doing their makeup, it’s pretty rad to be on set with them.

My health has been better overall and I’ve been taking a lot of time to focus on what’s important to me. I have myself on a nice schedule of waking around 5 so I can meditate, journal, read, and get in some movement before I get ready for work. It’s been great to get that time to myself and I’ve also been working on my Spanish more. ☺️
I’m just real sick of feeling like a victim, mainly. Shit happens to us all, and I ain’t about to sit around and let it bum me out. I got myself into a fairly negative mindset once Covid hit, and I am determined to get out of it and stay out of it. I really noticed that not having an expressive outlet was a big source of that, so I’m planning some shoots to get in some playtime both as a model and as a makeup artist. And who knows… maybe some photography. Speaking of which… I have some new photography work to share here! I’ll post the full set in a few, but here’s a fun little teaser of my dear friend, Amanda.

You were definitely a bright spot in Social media and I enjoyed what you brought, but your mental and physical health are very important and worth more than thousands of 5 second glances. I am happy for you that you are taking charge of what you would like to bring. Decided that your outlook on life was something I definitely would support more than just SM as a birthday gift to myself.
The Minimalists say basically if it serves a purpose or brings you joy, you’re good! Aka if I owned half the clothing you do, I know I’d be joyful 😂 I can’t wear heels because of a bad knee, and your shoes always have me like 😍. but yeah! Spanish is beautiful! I have my days where I don’t want to look at the app but it’s worth it in the end! I want to be fluent if possible, and unfortunately, that doesn’t happen overnight. 🙃 but you’ve got this!
