I tried a new save and then first battle after the tutorial is only with Gear. Anything we're supposed to do?

I'm stuck at the beginning so I'm gonna reinstall it.
The bugs usually are from when you try to open a save that's not from the same build.
I have seen a few bugs too. It's relative to the old saves.

Sorry, that's not supposed to be the case. I'll try to replicate it. Does it happen if you try an older save?
Is there a bug for the second battle? I was killed several times because only Gear can be controlled.
