Thank you! I knew I was missing some context here, and that's a great margin note to read after this chapter. That's a really dense situation!

Jeanean

I have a feeling that somehow a lot of people have missed a very important piece to this whole mess. Rationally, Sonya knows that this Chunhua is not the same as the one she was married to. Emotionally, however, she has never really managed to make that seperation. And then, there comes Chunhua, taking advantage of the fact that Sonya gets hurt if she lies or refuses to answer repeatedly. It doesn't matter much how aware, consciously or sub-consciously, Chunhua was of the situation, but she was basically torturing the answers out of Sonya. Rationally, Chunhua is not very much at fault, and considering the situation one might even argue that she did the exact right thing. But emotionally, and from Sonya's perspective? Sonya got abused by her wife. Plain and simple. That Sonya put Chunhua on ice is perfectly understandable, and its only the exeedingly complicated extenuating circumstances that make the whole emotional mess much harder to fully process, but also ultimately forgiveable.

Thanks for the chapter!💕 Yeah that's the issue with traveling to the past you've essentially cut off contact to everyone in the present and you've lost all the relationships you've built so you would see the ghost of those future people that you've either just killed via time travel, they died prior by going back, or made a impassible barrier between different timelines Not to mention occupying the space of your former self essentially killing your younger self also ----------------------------- Warning Below may be spoilers? As I kinda predicted alot of potential endings? Sorry... --------------------------- But yeah I feel terrible thinking about the complex thoughts of losing the one you love and the only option is to get someone who knows nothing of your former relationship and or hasn't experienced their side of the feelings and having to choose to change/corrupt them by telling the truth and in essence choose their former selves over the one that passed that you loved so much. Or to let them grow to be the same person you loved and respected but without you... Sonya made her choice and Chunhua has decided that she can't follow through her choice and Sonya won't let her join her "corrupting the ideal that she loved chunhua for alongside her other traits" While Chunhua hasn't done anything wrong Sonya is unable to accept that the villainous actions she takes are actually just. As accepting that and accepting Chunhua will mean having to deal with the memory of the travesty of her past life, what she's lost and that no matter how hard she plans she can't save everyone and she blames herself entirely But yeah I'm guessing either Chunhua dies and Sonya takes her rage out on the world till she's stopped and takes Otis down with her? Or Chunhua's persistence will see her being a bodyguard figure? Waiting until Sonya accepts that she will never corrupt her ideals even, even if Sonya currently sees it as a corruption of ideals? Though with Chunhua it may be she kills Otis for what he's done to Sonya and then continues to try to save Sonya or finds Sonya too broken by the future that never will be and out of love chooses to "help" Sonya how she wanted And should Sonya pass and her deal be null she will maybe attempt to bring attention to the fact that Sonya was a true hero Or in the end the story will be a tragedy?

Good to finally see what actually went down. I have to say though I do not love this interaction between the two. Like Sonya was married to BL so she knows the type of person/hero BL is. Getting that mad at BL for months and months for doing what any good hero, let alone BL the #1 hero, would do in the same situation when you literally reveal you are the current main antagonist seems a bit weird to me. Especially if BL did not actually react in that exact manner she did and push for answers BL would not even be the hero/person that Sonya knew, loved and is counting on to be the counter to Ishtar. I could be over thinking this but it just struck me as a little off.

So has ASTA/Pandora Committee created a Super Hero Therapy Department yet? Mental Health is definitely a hero weakness I'm picking up on. TFTC! 🙃

I....Just. Fuck. That sucks, really damn well written but just... shit.

Me or broker the power?

I feel that the point was that Sonya wanted Chunhua to remain a total "hero" who hates Ishtar and always opposes her, so that she could be the one who fought and killed Sonya at the end after Otis is dead and her work is done. But Chunhua forced her to talk, she was physically hurting her after repeatedly asking the question knowing that she couldn't directly lie. So now Chunhua sees things from Sonya's perspective and she will no longer really be her enemy, she can't possibly fight her for real. We already saw this last chapter during their duel where Chunhua refused to go for her neck.

Finally. Also I get the feeling broker truly forced that one. Love the moments when Sonya's weaknesses twist her plans in little ways. Also explains why BL is working with her now.

Okay, so this went way different than I expected. Why is Sonya reacting like this? I get that she is emotional after fucking up in regards to Firestorm but what exactly did Chunhua do wrong? For someone that allegedly knows her "wife" intimately, not preparing for her investigation is a serious faux-pas. I get that Sonya doesn't want to "manipulate" or "taint" Chunhua, but this was uncalled for and is a classic case of grabbing the idiot ball tightly and running with it.

A perfect milestone chapter
