WOW! Thank you for such an incredible insight into what you're working on! That brings such additional life and mystery, story and possibility. I can't wait to see the rest of what you do! :)

I've moved away from using City of the Damned (it's not mentioned as Trademarked in the rulebook, but I'm not taking any chances with them, anymore) - to the Cursed City after recent events. Heldenheim was a prosperous trading city sitting at the mouth of the Great Regnitz River. Ships from afar would bring in exotic goods and magical trinkets and items. Fine spices from Far Uttar Kaharashtra. Small, strange idols of gold that sometimes flicker with an eerie glow that were found in lost temples in the rain forests of Manacapuru are brought to Heldenheim's manors and palaces. The idols are put on display in deep vaults beneath these great homes. It is only for those with enough money to fund an expedition to these lost lands... But with prosperity comes vice and excess. If unchecked, it could become the downfall of any city. And one such as grandeur as Heldenheim, it was only a matter of time... The Cursed City name refers to the ruined state of the city where a purplish hellfire engulfed the city for 13 days and 13 nights. The inhabitants witnessed strange forms coalescing in and out of reality in the days leading up to All Curses Day - the name given to the start of the hellfire. Nobody truly knows how it all began. Or why the prosperous city was thus cursed. Constant stormclouds have gathered over the once fair city... But some whisper the answers lay within the maze of tunnels, dungeons, and vaults beneath the city. There are rumours of riches and treasures still within these dungeons, cellars, and hidden vaults. Lost or left behind by their previous owners. However, few have survived their search within these tunnels and dungeons. For those that are lucky enough to see daylight once again, they will have changed. The experience and visions they witnessed in the depths of the undercity gnaw at the back of their minds, slowly twisting their once courageous souls to something dark and sinister. Only those with a strong enough constitution could finally come out of this crippling stupor. But the gnawing is always there... Ready to consume when the time is right!

Google for Mordheim.

I think this house is AMAZING! I have a question for Pinyo--is there anywhere (like on a website or blog of yours, for example) where we can read some of your thinking on the lore of this city? I believe you mentioned that what you are creating this month is sometimes called "The City of the Damned," and that sounds so full of history and intrigue. These buildings look incredible, but I'm not getting that sort of desperation that would come from a city of the title you gave. So I might be missing something. Also, you did mention that there might be ruins and that the grimdark stuff could be printed and added separately. Please don't view my question as a critique--I know you're going through a difficult situation right now, and I have nothing but respect for your incredible art! I'm only deeply curious about the background and insights of "The City of the Damned!" :)
