Russ says ‘Krawn-O Trigger’!? Oh man that blows his Mario pronunciation out of the water, I gotta hear Griffin’s and Justin’s reaction to that.

Travis

It's happening!!!

I heard the soundtrack for Bastion. It's now in the backlog.

Olivia Gibson

Apparently Konami heard us complaining about MGS4 being playable???

Overwatch, my sweet baby! I am deeply ashamed by my undying love of this game. It is my absolute comfort food of a video game, and for all the very serious and important problems with Blizzard no other game has hit so good for me. They've just added five heroes to the game this week! Jetpack cat best cat.

Hi Resties! I missed the question post for this week’s episode, but hopefully it’s okay to ask a question in a comment. Speaking of guests… I loved the History of Fun podcast from Polygon (and am devastated that it seems to have been pulled from Apple Podcasts), would you consider reuniting the History of Fun crew and inviting Allegra Frank on as a guest? :)

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture is a game I played because of the incredible soundtrack. It’s also why I bought my PS4 🫣

I am a second listener and very much agree with you. Well said!

Thanks for answering my question, I agree that overwatch was definitely a cultural moment that I also missed out on…

I am but one listener, but I express a personal disinterest in “Best Game of X Genre.” So much prefer the goofy ass battle brackets. I don’t come to The Besties for news. I listen because y’all are random funny weirdos (a compliment from a fellow weirdo) whose humor I enjoy discussing a topic I’m into.

I wouldn’t call it a “Heist” game but I realized on my drive in to work as I was listening that nothing quite scratches that itch for me except Baldur’s Gate 3. The high fantasy setting enables not just a huge enough variety in defenses that each one can have unique puzzle elements and other obstacles, but also enables a huge variety of tools for the player(s) to use, from invisibility to turning to gas, to animals, to bribing and deceiving and distracting and I could go on. One of the other benefits of it not being specifically a heist game is that it does not segregate heists out from other gameplay. Any prep you do is done in real time and with real reaction. If you need a tool or spell or ability, you can go get it. And last but certainly not least, the thing you’re heisting is almost always a direct and unique impact on your game. It’s usually not just a MacGuffin for a quest or something that’s turned into an amount of money offscreen, you get what you steal, whether that’s a large sum of money, or a badass weapon, or a unique scroll. I wouldn’t advertise it as a heist game, but it is hard to beat dnd when it comes to doing heists.

My wife and I'm first date was to see "Get Out" and Plante's "Send Help" experience sounds very similar. People were so scared and freaked out they were yelling at the screen and laughing in fear. Was also similar to the Regina Hall bit in Scary Movie 1 hahaha
