‘Tis the season to pick the Besties Besty of 2025!
Every year, The Besties run the best games of the past 12 months through a 16-seed bracket. Like last year, The Besties will once again select 12 contenders. Listeners (that’s you) will vote for the other four.
Here’s how it works.

Please only vote once. To spare you email verification, we’re trusting the honor system.
Your ballot must be submitted before the polls close on Friday at 11:30 PM PT.
The Besties 12 nominees are not options on this ballot, so if you want a game included that appears on this ballot, vote for it! The full list of 16 contenders will be announced in the coming weeks!

I hope by some beautiful magic To A T finds it's way into the GOTY conversation. To A T is one of the most beautifully crafted, lovingly put together games I've ever played. I fully turned my brain off to critical gamer brain and brought myself back to a place of pure fun and creativity playing that game, and knowing that there is a game that high quality made for children out there is really beautiful I think. I am being a very good boy for Christmas so i only voted for Roottrees once, but i really hope everyone else votes for it as well. Not only does it scratch that Obra-Dinn itch, but it set itself so cleverly in that early internet era where you had to sort-of know how to use search terms to get to where you wanted to be. Like Obra-Dinn i played through it basically non-stop over 2 days; just fantastic.

My game of the year is Expedition 33 but my time has been very thoroughly dominated by Helldivers 2 coming to Xbox. I play with my brother and other family and it’s always always a great time.

I found it frustrating from the beginning, although I stuck with through room 46. I generally don’t feel like RNG is a match-made-in-heaven with multi-layered puzzle games. For exactly the reason you stated. I might figure out a puzzle but then I can’t actually solve it for ten more runs

Hello besties, I'm just assuming 9Kings is in the top 12 already so I won't get upset. 9Kings has been such a great surprise this year with the incredible updates and patches. They have released all the Kings and now the new Quest mode where you play out challenging scenarios, but, of course, this will all be discussed on the GOTY episode because it is in the top 12. Right? RIGHT?!?

Am I the only one who enjoyed Blue Prince until it just got frustrating and made me angry? Once I knew how to unlock room 46, the RNG wouldn’t give me what I needed and I gave up after 5 more days and rage deleted it. Is that just me or bad game design

I have played zero of these games! SilkSong (and now Hades2) is effortlessly dominating all my free time. I ended up voting for the ones I’d *like* to play. I hope that’s ok. It does say “vote for your favorites”. Arguably these count as my favorites? Maybe this will motivate me to play some of these. I *love* Obrah Dinn and thoroughly liked Golden Idol, so I should give Roottrees a shot. (While I have you here, can I bitch one more time about the fact that Netflix made Golden Idol and Monument Valley into exclusives and then cut them both from their library, along with a bunch of other S-tier mobile games!)
