After my battle with Chordus, I had leveled up a lot. Like, a lot a lot. It was probably the most levels I had ever gained for both my Subspecies and my Class in one go.
But that was to be expected. I had been up against a Level 205 Primordial Demon. Sure, she might have had a limited access to the true Skills an ordinary Primordial Demon would have. However, the fact of the matter was, she was slowly unlocking more and more of her abilities as the battle went on.
Maybe she had, if I was being generous, unlocked about half the power of a true Primordial Demon, before I sent her to be crushed in the fold between the planes. But she hadn’t even died as soon as that happened either. She had lingered in that twisted space for quite a while before she finally perished.
So it was very likely that she had grown even stronger during that lull until her actual death.
Of course, I didn’t know if her access to her Skills or being a Primordial Demon even mattered towards rewarding me with experience. It was entirely possible only her levels counted, and since she was considered to be Level 205, it gave me an abundant amount of experience.
All that mattered was that, right now, I now have 5 Grand Skill Points to spend, alongside with a brand new Grand Skill called [Soul Of The Primordial Demon]. I also had 45 Stat Points, 33 Skill Points, and 26 Secondary Skill Points, all available to spend.
That was not to mention the Unique Skill I had learned— that was apparently so corrupted, that I couldn’t level it up in any measurable way.
But I pushed all those thoughts to the side for now. Because my main focus was on my Grand Skill and Grand Skill Points at the moment.
First of all, before I even addressed my new Grand Skill, I still had [Divine Essence Of The Angelic Devil Princess], [Claw Of Corruption], and [The World Of My Mind] at Level 2. The only maxed out Grand Skill I had was [My Flames Shall Burn Until Eternity Ends] at Level 3.
Extrapolating off that fact, I could only assume that at least one of my other Grand Skills would max out at Level 3. It was possible all of them maxed out at Level 3, but it was safer for me to work off the assumption that at least one of them maxed out at a higher level like Level 5 for example.
After all, I needed all my Grand Skills to be maxed out for me to be able to evolve into a Primordial Demon, according to my dad. And with [Soul Of The Primordial Demon] added to the mix, I had to be extremely cautious with how I spent my Grand Skill Points.
If, for example, every single one of my current un-maxed Grand Skills needed 5 levels to be maxed out, then it was impossible for me to max out all my Grand Skills and evolve into a Primordial Demon even if I reached Level 190 in both my Class and my Subspecies.
And as far as I was aware, 10 levels before an evolution was the earliest possible level to get an option for evolution.
So, hypothetically-speaking, if I reached Level 190 in both my Subspecies and Class, or if I reached Level 195 in my Subspecies and Level 185 in my Class, or even if I reached Level 200 in my Subspecies and Level 180 in my Class, I wasn’t going to be able to get an evolution option if this was the case.
In fact, I wasn’t even going to be able to max out all Grand Skills in this hypothetical scenario unless I was Level 200 in my Subspecies and Level 190 in my Class. And getting to that point before even facing Regnorex was practically impossible, unless I was somehow was able to kill another Primordial Demon or two.
This was the worst-case scenario for me. Because I needed to become a Primordial Demon as soon as possible to even stand a chance against Regnorex.
However, I had to factor it in as a possibility. Which, if it was, I would then need to instead allocate my Grand Skill Points to the Grand Skills which would best help me win this war.
So I thought about what upgrades or changes my current Level 2 Grand Skills underwent after I upgraded them.
First of all, I thought about [Claw Of Corruption]. It became stronger after I upgraded it. But that was it.
Like, was it more effective in battle? Yes, yes it was. However, I wasn’t sure if a stronger version of a one-time-use attack was going to turn the tides of a fight, especially if my opponent somehow dodged it.
So I moved onto my next Grand Skill, rather than spending any Grand Skill Points on it just yet.
Next up was [Divine Essence Of The Angelic Devil Princess]. With it, I hadn’t felt or seen any significant change when I leveled it up. Or at least, that was what I had immediately thought when I leveled up the Grand Skill. But now, after having been in a prolonged battle with Chordus, I realized what had happened.
The duration of the Grand Skill had been extended. And it wasn’t just a minor extension. Even now, I still had the massive increase in all my Stat Points affecting me, and I knew intuitively that it wasn’t going to come to an end anytime soon just yet.
While it wasn’t guaranteed that leveling a Grand Skill further would result in the same upgrade as before, I decided to put aside both Grand Skills for now.
Instead, I considered [The World Of My Mind]. Out of all my current options, this was the best contender for a Grand Skill to level. After all, it had been the main equalizer that helped me not just keep up with Chordus, but eventually defeat her.
Not only had it given me an entire sea of corruption to control and battle with, but it had also allowed me to teleport the transformed-[King Of The Wild] into the fold between the planes to ultimately defeat her.
Of course, it hadn’t been easy— one of the main problems I had faced during the battle was manipulating the corruption, the pocket space, and fighting all at the same time. Perhaps, if I upgraded it, my mastery over manipulating [The World Of My Mind] would be even better. Or maybe I would even have access to a more powerful form of the corruption. Whatever it was, right now, maxing out this Grand Skill seemed like the smartest choice to me.
So that was what I decided to do. I leveled [The World Of My Mind], bringing it to Level 3, all the while hoping that it would have maxed out. Unfortunately for me, that wasn’t what happened. Even at Level 3, the Grand Skill could still level up even more, which meant that my chances of maxing out all my Grand Skills by Level 190 was not looking too good.
While I could have just saved my remaining Grand Skill Points to equally distribute them between my remaining Grand Skills, I wanted to test the upper limits of a Grand Skill’s max level. After all, I was working off the presumption that Level 5 could be the upper limit. It was entirely possible some Grand Skills could even max out at Level 10.
If that was the case, then I would need to focus on leveling my strongest Grand Skills since I wouldn’t even get the chance to evolve at Level 200 for both my Subspecies and Class— and right now, my strongest Grand Skill was [The World Of My Mind]. So I kept leveling it, bringing it to Level 4, then Level 5…
And I stopped. There was a mental block that prevented me from expending more Grand Skill Points into leveling it, which meant that it was maxed out. Focusing on my Status, I confirmed that was indeed the case.

While this didn’t confirm that Level 5 was the absolute max for all my Grand Skills, I still did let out a small sigh of relief when it stopped leveling. Now though, the problem was that I only had 2 remaining Grand Skill Points left to spend, while having 3 Grand Skills I could level.
Which meant that I was going to have to leave one of my Grand Skills un-leveled. It was going to be hard to make that choice. But before I could decide on what to spend my Grand Skill Points on…
I raised my head as I whispered to myself.
“Let’s see what [Soul Of The Primordial Demon] does first.”

Hey Melas! Thanks for the chapter! On the one hand I feel like this chapter doesn't add much, one the other hand it canonizes a lot of the speculation we did in the comments recently. It's nice to see Salvos planning and strategizing the grand skill point use even if we know she does that. I think the best investment of her remaining 2 points is at least one into her [Soul of the Primordial Demon] and either a 2nd in there if it's powerful or a 3rd into her claw GS so she can go out and hunt wild primordials to level. I think the coolest effect for [Soul of the Primordial Demon] would be If she could temporarily empower a number of skills equal to the GS level to primordial tier. That would offer a lot of tactical options now and in the future, while balancing nicely with Chordus' GS and distinct from her DE. She can upgrade 3 of her world, flames, claw and DE depending one the situation to face primordials. And what will happen after her evolution? What are primordial GSs elevated to? I think that's intriguing.

Also, what do you guys think the chances are that she doesn't even evolve into a primordial demon at all and becomes something else entirely due to her draconic/angelic/corruption traits?

I don't remember exactly how the evolution to primordial was said to work. Will Salvos not be able to evolve at all past lvl200, or will she simply stop receiving GS points after lvl200?

The part about dimensional travel is for her class.

Even if she were to achieve over two hundred, would she be able to achieve the ability to go between dimensions even with corruption? And that is not even mentioning if she wanted to become say an empress at the nexus for her final evolution. Maybe become ether a greater god as a secondary species or true god.

So i just re-read all of the books because I was so excited for the finally of book 14. After the second time through I realized something crazy. Sally was fighting and killing things in the mortal plane for what a year? More? And when she fought the progenitor centinal she attuned the Dreaded Goblet which let her "sync" with Salvos. My theory is chronologically this happens right before a crucial moment in the war with Ragnorex and Salvos will at some point get a toooooooon of experience. Also, maybe even experience from the defeated Progenitor? Needless to say, im hype af to see what happens as the conclusion to that plot point! This series is seriously one of the best I've ever read. Great work Melas!

She will be able to build actual new world, not only for her. For now it will be somewhat a plane like demiplane in Planescape, but when she get to primordial demon she will be albe to create actual living and continuosly existing plane of a god to resode in. In Planescape their home plane are places where god can only be defeated, but is there the strongest, while everyone else is way weaker. Gods rally leave their planes, and only send out their avatars. Salvos will also adopt some god portfolio, or and aspect. Goddess of what she will become. I think Rachel her mian apostole will be determination of that. Or Haec, her first companion. So her plane will be new world that will battle corrupion by itself. Like plane of Fairies.

Salvos gets atleast one more GS. And Salvo of vanity might evolve into one too. 6*2+1*4=16 GSP And she gets 16 GSP at level 190 total, so it's just possible to evolve early if none of her other GS max at 5. But i assume she is going to miss that window might evolve at 195 though.

Now that we know the upgrade of DE GS, I have to agree with Salvos reasoning. Better to focus on the more powerful GSs, rather than spread the levels. Excluding the new GS (unknown effect for now), World of my Mind was the best choice.
