VIDEO TUTORIAL: Value Study Exercise
🕑 Added 2024-09-10 12:00:01 +0000 UTCThis week I have a great exercise for you! We'll do this value study and use just three values when we start out and focus on the big shapes of light, shadow and midtones. It's a really good way to build those drawing muscles. Let's do this!
I have attached the color palette with the three values we'll be using (as always, make sure to use a browser like Safari or Chrome when downloading, the Patreon app won't let you download attachments unfortunately).

With procreate open, click on the three dots at the top of the screen. Then click on split view. Then you should be able to open the photos app and drag along the crease to adjust the sizing how you want between the two apps

Thought I had it, but don't.... How do you put the photo on one side and the app on the other ? When I try, I can have my Photos app be one half, and Procreate the other half, but that's not how yours is. You have your drawing in the middle and the photo without Photo App controls visible on the left. If I insert the photo it takes over the drawing space. Stumped! Thanks for help.

If you search "portrait" in the search bar, there is one greyscale portrait tutorial posted on September 29th 2020, and another one posted on February 26th 2020 :)
