I like what you’ve had. If new lighting doesn’t increase the shadows on your face then 👍🏼, but like Aidan said it fills out the lighting in the shelves

Korra is still happening, I have fallen a bit behind but I am planning to upload the finale reactions this week!

Same for me just like @lourain said, that “death ball of light” makes it look you just came down from haven or that a mothership is about to teleport you away! 😄 rest is all good 👍

I think I'm on the same page as you: I like the sharpness of the image here but I do not like the lighting. I think if there's some compromise between the two setups, that'd be ideal. I like the lower light one because it's a bit more dramatic and you can see the lighting in the shelves, but it makes you a lot less focused and clear. If there's a way, maybe a separate light, or dimmer lights above, to be somewhere between those two that might look better.

I usually watch your videos on my laptop. My browser, Opera, offers a pop-up for videos called "Lucid Mode." It lightens and sharpens automatically, so you and your co-hosts always look pretty good.

Personally prefer the current setting

I prefer the old lighting but I know the brighter setup helps people who watch on mobile which has always surprised me as being where most people seemingly watch youtube. The low lighting is great for your setup and gives a nice, welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, I know people who watch on their phones will often complain about videos being too dark. Also, a quick question for you - are you taking a break from the Korra reactions or are you just not feeling the show? I haven't seen you mention the lack of uploads regarding it so if there's a reason I missed, sorry for asking.

It does kinda singe the retinas, doesn't it
Brandon Curtis
My eyes are accustomed to low lighting, so I never found a fault with the previous set up. The focus is sharp but the light is stronger than a superlaser so I vote for ambience.
Jared Cantor
The focus is great, but yes you're shiny and there is a lot more facial shadow. You'd need some stronger head on lighting too

The extra lighting looks better but it makes you look a bit shinier. I think that’s why people on TV wear make up, even men. I believe the standard face make up is called pancake. The helmets in the back look a lot better though so you have to go with bright lights either way.

The extra lighting is good , , . except not the ball of death. It makes you look like someone blacked both your eyes.
