That's a solid point! There was never really any reason to train/develop counters to airbending moves, since no one planned to encounter one.

It's something that's implied but part of the reason that air benders are so powerful is that the world has gone for so long without seeing air benders no one really knows how to fight against them. We see this in ATLA and in TLOK.

yes! more korra

That's a very good point, they did handle it in a realistic way

What I like about these romance is that they are realistic, in the way that when something big is happening, they get over it to settle the big issue because the "end of the world" is more important than their relationship. Too many movies and series are like "You dumped me so now I'll join the bad guys and everyone will die !"

We get to see the airbender effects, but in-world witnessing Airbenders fight must be like watching Jedi force lift and force push all over the place, and bob and weave around projectiles and weapons
Tristan N Milner
Still feel the Spirits meddled with Pema and Tenzin's kids in an effort to restore balance by increasing the airbender population.

Season 1 of this show gets shit from the fans but I really love it. Amon is a pretty terrifying villain with his ability to remove bending. And hell yeah, General Iroh. Love that the name is carried on as well as Dante Basco returning. I know you don't like all the sideplot relationship stuff but they went farther with that in this series than they did with ATLA because the audience was older at this point. It doesn't bother me but I can understand just wanting the show to move on and not dwell too much on teen romance drama lol

It does seem to be hereditary. If benders of different types marry and have offspring, the children may have one type or the other, Bolin and Mako for example. They may also be non-benders. Same if a non-bender marries a bender such as Pema, who has 3 air bender children with Tenzin.
