I think you've already summed up everything I would imagine the discord to have. It doesn't have to be anything special at all. Keep it relatively simple, one can always expand on it if need be.

Sup there, Therbis here :D Discord is actually a cool thing for comics I must say. I wasnt fond of it in the beginning either, later then decided to do one for both comics and its actually pretty nice. On one hand you can have closer contact to your followers, makes you more friendly seeming and reachable which many people enjoy :) On my server for example I sometimes share sketches or previews which I usually dont post since Im too lazy on that, having pages sometimes done quicker than when posting sketches everywhere first. When I get pages done, I can ping @everyone and all will instantly see hei theres a new page! Usually quicker than checking your inboxes on sites. Art sharing channel also pulls some nice artists in who its always nice to share thoughts with. What might give you a nodge to do it is the option to do like private livestreams for only the ones you want to, like to special Patrons or only friends or such (by voicerooms in which you turn on your screenshare). If you wanna go for it sometime and need help on anything feel free to hit me, in the first time it annoyed me a lil to get all stuff functioning :`D
