'The Wayward Inn' Short Story / Potential Novel
🕑 Added 2019-07-03 07:29:42 +0000 UTCSo this started off as a short story, but after a month of going back and forth on the outline for it (that's part of the reason for the delay, sorry. . . this thing got away from me) I feel like this might actually be a novel. And if that's the case the title will get changed.
Anyway, this is the totally rough, 'a lot of this is going to get changed' either first chapter of a short story, or a novel. It's a mess right now, but it at least introduces the characters.
Kosumi - A Grizzly/Polar bear hybrid
Elias Finnebar - A Wolf/Dog hybrid
The story is obviously going to have some themes of mixed lineage, and adopted families. It's set in the Red Lantern universe, specifically in the Northern Territories of Carvecia.

I finally got around to reading this. I think there's a "right time" for anything. I like how descriptive you are. I think this is a nice kick-off to a story. I also wonder if the line "He forgot his hat" is meant to be a gag or if Finn does that on purpose. I would totally read what else you have in store for Kosumi and Finn.

Good Lord I love your writing, especially your works set in the Red Lantern universe. You have just such a wonderful way of breathing such life and detail into it. I love Kosumi, he seems like such a curious sweetie, and whatever you decide to do with this story, I'm eagerly looking forward to reading more about him.
