A few disclaimers about this one. Please read!
- This story features Finnegan Ambrose and Tulimak Tawnahowac from 'Kindred'. If you're on this tier, you have access to Kindred. It's a full novel (2 actually) set in the Red Lantern universe, but it's standalone. You don't need to know the series. If that sounded like a pitch for you to read the novel, it was : P In any case, if you haven't, this story is SPOILERY. You've been warned.
- This story features scarification/tattooing. I mean, that's pretty obvious from the image, but still. I wouldn't say it's graphic, it's just... there.

- This story is essentially the world's least subtle metaphor for the dangers of coming out. This is a sensitive topic, a fact I well understand, because I still struggle with it personally. The decisions the characters come to in this short story are not meant to be portrayed as what I, the writer, believe to be the 'morally correct choice'. Everyone's circumstances are different and it's a complicated question that often involves one's safety, and the safety of their loved ones. This story is not meant to push any reader to draw any conclusion other than that fact - it's personal, and it's your decision. I feel like spelling this out here is rather ruinous of the story's point, but also that I had to warn. I don't want anyone getting the wrong impression.
All of that being said, I want to know what you all think! As always, I welcome feedback, good and bad.

Finally got to read this one after finishing Kindred earlier, I love these little stories that give an insight into what's going on in the characters lives

I finally got around to reading this. This story is another instance when you amaze me with how long you can go without inserting dialogue. I particularly like that Finn instinctively runs his fingers along the markings on Tulimak's arm. You keep the story simple, having Finnegan want the marking of marriage. You must love these two, wanting them to grow further. I connect to Finnegan for his vendetta and his regrets. Regarding the picture: I like how the red of the open wounds stand out among the greys.

Always a pleasure to get these insights into a character's worldview - especially with how you shift the writing style to fit their perspective and voice. I'll admit to being slightly surprised by Finn's request, but it suits him to a T. Beautifully done as always <3

Absolutely love the art and the story. I did notice one sentence reading through, near describing Tuli's face: (Reserved only for marriage marks, or those that Shaman wore, it was a scared area.) Is 'scared' supposed to be 'sacred'?
