Illicit Alliance - Act II - Part 2
🕑 Added 2021-10-01 08:22:01 +0000 UTCAs usual this goes from banter to serious to banter to tomfoolery right back to serious.
Please let me know what you think!
This includes Part 1, which I made some edits to. Not too long yet so it might be worth reading again.

How you make me go from giddy to completely destroyed in a few lines of dialogue is just. . . GAH. I’ll never get tired of Grayson and Luther. Like, ever. I’d die to know what’s going on in Luther’s mind right now. I think the sheer ability to talk to 2 people who know his secret and don’t care must be so refreshing for him. I hope he feels that, and isn’t worried about them turning on him :(

Amazing bit of writing. I'm always devasted when I reach the end. I know Grayson is straight(95%?) but honestly I'm in love with him. You keep us hooked, Rukis. I never tire of your writing.

This entire story is probably my favorite of yours for that reason. As fun as it would be for many of your readers (me included) to have... Luthson? Grayther? - I am really, really pleased to see their relationship taken in this direction instead, and how organic and normal it feels.

Outside the fandom friendships like that, for people like me, are just incredibly rare. I always feel like I have to walk on eggshells around my straight friends who know that I'm gay, and the sheer degree of casualness between Luther & Grayson is so, so, so important to have a depiction of, even inside the fandom because I feel like that's just a type of relationship that doesn't get explored at all. Having that example is really important.

I really want to say just how incredibly refreshing and significant it is for me to have this depiction of a straight man who is so thoroughly unbothered by his friend's homosexuality to the point that he can playfully flirt & play "gay chicken" like that.

I really feel for Luther at the end. He has a real bad legacy with wh.. paid lovers. This is a deeply caring and passionate man. He literally wears his heart on his sleeve. No matter how noble his intentions he just cannot enter in to a brief transaction without his heart - or life - being in danger.

Plenty of hands on experience, tying opponents in to positions where they are helpless. Knowing all the different ways to put a body in to a knot.. Shall I continue noble lion??? *Playfully wavies tongue*

I always knew Luther would be able to take Grayson in a bout of grappling. His past experience of groping...er... wrestling with the other men before he became an officer has trained him too well.
