Sorry to hear, it is such a terrible disease to deal with, my grandma has it, and before my dad passed away he was beginning to be senile in the end! thank you for sharing :)

It's the most painful episode for me. I had the same experience with my grandma who raised me between 4 and 12, while my parents lived in another city. She's gone some time ago, and the last two years were heartbreaking for me. At first, she hardly ever recognized me, and often thought that I was my dad (her son). And in the end she hardly ever recognized me at all. It all lasted about two years. And as Gir said - it changes you.
